A cool fall breeze blew through the trees. Theodore was sitting inside the student café, a drink on the table and an open book for one of his class for one of his sophomore lever classes “How to spot common villains.” Theo then scooted out and turned his chairs the parallel the table and stretched his legs out and kept them out, hopefully out of the way of other people.
He wasn’t in the mood for a fight today, thanks to his homework load. He rested an elbow on the table and once more started to scan through the book. This was a load of bologna since he already had some experience within this, but he couldn’t open him mouth and say hey, I’m already out there doing something as a vigilante or else the professors and students would laugh. ”A normie like you?” “Actually fighting villains?” “How is that even possible with no powers?” “Do you even lift?” Luckily the difference between his vigilante persona and his regular human form was both his hair and how he covered his eyes; while Knight had wild hair, Theo had matted his hair down with gel, which was pain with a lot of hair and the mask saved him the trouble of someone looking his way and easily spotting him. So, even if the speculation did piss him off at least he could save his butt of someone interrupting his work at night.
Giving out a defeated sigh, Theo lifted his head away from his book and pinched the bridge of his nose. Being at the university was a fight to stay, but that wasn’t enough, he had to prove himself. In his own thoughts, he posed majestically with a large smile as people thanked him instead of questioning if a normal person could take on the same tasks as a super. Theodore crossed his arms and looked around at the other tables, a pair of freshmen girls looked over his way both whispering to each other, Theo then threw a smile and a wink their way. Both got into a fit of giggles before getting into one of their girly conversations, whatever that was.
He then twisted his torso to face his book once more. That was a good break; it was nice to know that sometimes new people don’t know the reputation you have. Unlike people who are a sophomore or higher, typically avoided him, unless one challenged him or vice versa. He then took up his highlighter and went through some passages. A quiet day was actually pretty nice.
But who ever knew that sometimes when you seek something it never comes to you, but if you don’t seek it actually comes.

Sometimes fate liked to decide that Danny didn't have enough bad luck in his life and went and gave him a gentle love tap where the sun didn't shine- just to remind him of his place as it was. It was the only way Danny had to explain his luck really. There he had been walking into the student cafe with a nice book in tow and a lovely meal to look forward to and his leg had decided to act glitchy. His robotic one obviously. It would twitch randomly, freeze up suddenly and refuse to move and all before the portal maker had even gotten to place his order.
In hindsight he probably should have given it regular checkups from one of the numerous technopaths and technokinetics in the university, but how was he supposed to know? Danny had always been decent in his maintenance of the dratted things. Sighing in discomfort, he got up and stiffly made his was across the cafe and towards the exit. Once outside he could open a way to his dorm where he could figure out the problem in privacy.
But fate wasn't quite done with him yet. Just as he was almost there his leg seized up and caused him to misstep. Or maybe it was something in his way that tripped him up. No matter, the end result was the same- down Danny went crashing, with exclamations springing up around the cafe as he did so. Wonderful. Lying prone on the floor he tried getting to his feet, only to realize that his leg was completely unresponsive in its seized up state; he would have to lean on something to get up. Just fan-freaking fantastic.
Danny reached out to the nearest table and started the long, painful and embarrassing process of pulling himself up. One or two well meaning girls who had earlier been sitting around reached out to help him up, but Danny pushed them away gruffly. He didn't need help, he would pull himself up with the help of the table. There was some guy seated at the table though. Meh whatever- if he had a problem he could go stick it up his ass. Danny was short on understanding right about now.

Surprisingly, Theo was now getting into the groove with this book, even if he’s seen some things before but much of it was new material to him. Highlighting a passage, a sudden jerking made him swipe up. His mouth gapped open slight, he lifted his head up slightly to see the scene that lay in front of him. Son of a monkeybutt, his brows came down in annoyance and anger.
Theodore pulled his legs and sat up straight as the person started to stand up, he too came up. Theo’s hazel eyes narrowed slightly as he sized up the person before him. He must be one of the tech nerds, seeing his arm.
”Hey, I would watch out as to where you’re heading around he.” Theo growled out, some people around them looking their way, but attempting to get back into the conversation they were holding. Thinking about it, he hasn’t seen this kid around, must be a freshman. Well, isn’t that perfect.

Slowly he stood up, resting a hand on the table in order to balance himself. His leg was still frozen in a v shape which clearly meant that he wouldn't be walking around any time soon. At this point in time Danny was considering opening a portal and making a break for it, but he knew that it was at best wishful thinking. There were way too many people around here and his concentration too, was suspect in the circumstances. Like it or not he would be walking for the length of the shop at the very least.
About to make the long journey across Danny glanced at the guy whose table he had landed by. As per his usual luck he seemed to have all the fine qualities of one Ebeneezer Scrooge- before the spirits had come a calling, unfortunately. "Sorry." Danny replied gruffly "Leg froze up on me." he added, patting his leg and producing a metallic clink.
"Time to get out of here." he muttered to himself, after a short pause to gather his thoughts.
