Kaylee is from a non-superpowered family from Texas. She grew up on a farm in a small town and found out about her healing ability when she saved her older brother when he almost bled out from getting scraped up by a bull attack. The town she lived in wasn't known to accept those with powers, so her brother kept her secret for her.

When she was old enough, Kaylee moved to NYC to better understand her abilities. She'd heard about the colleges that accepted superhumans, and even though she had to save up for years to pay her way in, she eventually made her dream come true.

PRIMARY POWER: healing - kaylee can heal small cuts and bruises on any given day at any given time by placing her hands on said wound. when it comes to larger, life-threatening wounds, she must be in a heightened state of emotional stress and trauma to completely heal those wounds. she has to be in such a state because her healing normally isn't very strong, but when coupled with adrenaline and true willpower, she can heal non life-threatening internal bleeding and large external wounds. these bouts of emotional stress take a toll on her, however, and are rare cases that could kill kaylee if she does it long enough.
SECONDARY POWER: emotive aura - this ability allows kaylee to give off an aura of whatever emotion she's feeling at the time. however, this only applies to other people when she's in a heightened emotional state. so when she's feeling extremely sad, the people around her (within a twenty foot radius) can feel her aura of sadness as well. those with weak willpowers can easily become whatever emotion kaylee is putting off, and those with stronger willpowers can ignore the emotion if they so choose. this isn't something that kaylee can control.
