[attr="class","staffbod"]The students were fighting valiantly, but Serpenta wasn't going to give this fight up. Not this easily. Finally resuming her place in the sky to control everything, she surveyed the mess below her with a wicked smile. She liked this. She liked the cacophony, she liked the chaos. In her joy, she didn't notice the plethora of things flying at her from below. A glint of a metal object caught her eye, but the flute didn't get far enough to touch her...or so she thought. Watching with slight interest, the flute started to spiral back towards the ground until it was caught by a blast of shadow energy. The force pushed the flute up and it hurtled itself at Serpenta, nicking her on the shoulder and creating a deep gouge. Grasping the wound with her hand she lost a bit of altitude, narrowly missing the shadow bolts, though they singed her hair as they dissipated into the air. Her face, once confident and beautiful, was angered and marred by her inner ugliness. She was reeling, she wanted revenge. Just as she was about to send more of her minions after the little wench that threw the flute, she saw just out of the corner of her eye a glint of metal hurtling through the air. It was too late to do anything as the spear lodged itself deep into the snake's torso, the head falling limp as the stupid girl it was going after roped herself two monkeys and flew off. Just as the spear pierced the scale hide of the snake, the masked professor pinned it to the ground and started to emanate his poison breath. Outraged and injured, Serpenta left her place in the sky once more to attack Orrin, to pull him off her beloved pet. Grabbing the spear she removed it from the snake's body, still dripping with blood, and held it up over Orrin. She was going to end this. Meanwhile, Serpenta hadn't noticed the bees. They were zooming around, stinging the monkeys and children were dropping from them into a net that had been formed around some light poles. She didn't care about some meaningless, useless children right now. Taking lives was never her first priority. The minions that weren't attacking the children were attacking, well, everyone else, but the students had gained the upper hand somehow. Serpenta's distraction with her dying snake left her unable to summon more of the mutants. The smaller ones were being attacked by various students, being squelched especially by one student with amazingly buff arms, but the behemoth was in a chase. A mutated arm grabbed the behemoth and the boy attached to it was dragged on, and the big mutant decided, with his minuscule little mutant brain, that he could go for a good fly. Lifting up into the sky the behemoth zoomed off, the boy still holding on — but hopefully not for long. The offensive team rolled a 6, the defensive team rolled a 4.

| TIME TO PARTY!!! Things were starting to look up for this motley crew. Not matter what may happen at this point in time, a beaten and battered Myles Jay Crawford would go home as one happy metalhead. That was all because he finally got to see some legitimate action, albeit it being the type of action that may have put thousands - err no, millions of lives at stake. Despite, this redhead, as well as any others fighting for the same cause were actually starting to look like some form of cohesive unit. If only for a small amount of time. Nonetheless, that small amount was turning out to be time well-spent indeed. But it was clear to see that Myles, or anyone else for that matter, were far from done. There was still one thing left to do: to take out the skank responsible for all the madness.
That would be by no means easy. In fact, the vast majority of the metal-bending professor's time was wasted trying to figure out a means of eliminating that villain's pet, all the while at the same time avoiding it's hazardous fangs. "YES!" Myles interjected with yet another fist pump at the sight of the gargantuan reptile finally going down for the count. His idea worked; the spear had connected, along with the gaseous whiffs of the masked professor whom apparently had been focused on bringing that evildoer down. Let's not forget about that bold blonde whom had quite literally flown in with an assist of her own. He would have to make a mental note to himself to thank her later. But as for right now, something needed to be done about that witch.
From the looks of things, it seemed as if that villain was primed to make her next move. The redhead finally managed to at least get a glimpse of the crook in plain sight. Oh man! She seemed to be on one hell of a mean streak, and she was gunning for that fellow insructor! Myles was perhaps acting profusely on pure instincts alone at this point. He made a move to rush forward, mindless of the action that was transpiring in the air around him. Feeling that he might just not make in time to lend a hand to his fellow professor, the metal-bender had come to the epiphany that there may be one and only one other option available to him. To use his own body as a weapon.
How this was even possible for a man such as Myles was truly beyond belief. For him, the process was would be rather straightforward. Despite that fact, it was a high-risk manuever that shouldn't ever be used lightly as this would take a great deal of energy every single time. His five-foot-nine frame was at a standstill. With arms spread out on either side of his body as far as they could go, Myles would then commence the process of utilizing a portion of the metallic molecules in his anatomical makeup. Miniscule metallic particles - ones that normally could not be seen with the naked eye - began seeping through his epidermis and through the pores of his youthful complexion.
Small pellets of solidified iron revolved around his body in a motion similar to that of our universe's solar system. With one arm now held up across his chest, Myles was just about to let go. Grimacing from the after-effects of this skill, he then motioned one fell swoop with a cry of self-induced agony that could be heard from several blocks away. Just as he did this, the iron pellets finally shot forward at his beckoned call, and with that, the redheaded professor almost immediately dropped to his knees with heavy breathing, an obvious sign of fatigue. His intended target? 'The big bad boss lady.' Should this work, it may sting a bit, but hopefully it'd be enough to ultimately throw her off track for the moment. |

her concentration and effort paid off as she fired one last extra wave of ultrasound, flipping the balloon all the way out of the street and clearing the route for first responders - not to mention the poor bystanders who'd been taken out by the thing. finished, she set to helping the people still lying on the ground to their feet, but from the noise and chaos things seemed to be spiralling further out of control.
there were some days when you just regretted getting out of bed in this job.
casting her eyes across the scene she took in details, and she could feel her heart almost stop in her chest at the sight of the student being lifted into the air. she couldn't remember his name, but she was pretty sure he'd end up pancaked on the sidewalk unless she did something - everyone else on the scene seemed busy or out of commission, so -
breaking into a sprint she cycled through functions, mentally trying to calculate how much the kid probably weighed. less than she did, for sure, shorter and thinner, and she could maybe... well, it might give him a pretty hefty ringing in his ears at best, but it'd stop him from getting killed, and if she could only remember his na- yes, that was it!
"maddox! just drop, i've gotcha!" and still running, aiming carefully, she let loose a jet of soundwaves much like the ones she'd maneuvered the balloon with, aiming to slow and cushion his fall.

| The snake fell limp against his weight but Orrin didn’t let go. Not until he saw the shadow of the approaching Serpanta. Immediately sensing what she was going to do he tried to reach for the spear but he was too late.
Time seemed to slow as she moved to hold the makeshift spear over him. She looked oddly familiar, even in this fit of rage, the way her bright teal eyes contrasted against her hair, the way her enraged, scowling lips stretched across her face, distorting her smooth cheeks and nose.
But he couldn’t think about that. Instinctively he took a deep breath in, concentrating his venom before letting a high-potent cloud of soporific gas. Were there other people within the range? Honestly he didn’t notice. Right now it was just him and her.
As he did this he reached for the spear, in order to twist it, and her, to a less dangerous position .

Ezra's heart hammered as the first child came plummetting down into his net. He felt the strain of impact, but his creation held up nicely, bouncing the kid to soften the blow before they slid off onto solid ground. The kid was quite obviously rattled, but after a honey sweet smile and an encouraging nod from Ezra, he sprinted away in the opposite direction of all the chaos.
It was one kid after another, all bounced to safety. Compared to the absolute disarray from before, the situation seemed to be improving. For whatever reason, Serpenta wasn't summoning anymore of her creepy monkey creatures, and her snake was out of commission... If there was any time for the defensive team to save as many people as they could, it was now. With Orrin and Serpenta engaging in close ranged combat, there was a glimmer of hope that the ordeal was coming to an end.

Blond hair fluttering behind, Wilhelmina watched as the two professors diligently took care of the snake. Although she couldn't do much in terms of attacking, she took pride in knowing that thing was as good as dead . But where was the master of it? Blinded by her own success with a distraction, it was hard to focus on anything else at the moment.
Monkeys still on her feet and flying, the best bet to live without flying in a circle. And a long, thick black rod made the decision quite easy. The rope caught onto it as her body fell backwards and she and the monkeys stood upside down. Wilhelmina snrted, giddy. “Ooo~ I think something happened to everyone. They all look really blluuurrr...” A head smack against the rod and monkeys tiring out, Wilhelmina and her furry companions slide down to the ground. At least the little tuckered out monkeys let her go down slowly. Less injury to an already injured person was wonderful.
And the much needed contact of the pavement to her face was a nice wake up call. “Fuck.” Wilhelmina spat, realizing that she was not helping anyone. Picking herself up, she looked at the shoe-like monkeys. They salivated to get out of their predicament. “Not yet you little shits.” Walking on them, she could care less about the mutated creatures right now. Their brethren had caused hell. Albeit slower, her eyes came into contact with the professor she had saved and that of the masked one that had killed the beast. Neither of them were too concerned with her but with someone else.
Like a line between the two and the other direction, she noticed a woman. But something seemed off. Something smelled funny. Maybe going towards those two wouldn't be that great.
“Alright little shits. If you can keep me steady, you'll get what I promised.” Jumping, Wilhelmina whistled to let the creatures zoom back into the air and off to the side away from the small circle of professors and this strange lady-thing-a-ma-bob. (Well, the freshman was fairly certain it was a woman.) The monkeys gave her some leisure in the sky, and she tugged up the rope when to stop. Well, wasn't she getting these monkeys trained quickly? Muwahaha...
Slipping the wet tip from her bosom, Wilhelmina licked her lips before bringing the hard, slick wood to her mouth. A seed placed into her mouth, blue orbs gazed downward, and ready to strike if need me. Whatever it was in her mouth, ears and eyes were kept on alert for anything that changed. And an aerial-like view came in handy.

listen to the color of your dream. You'd think that with the ability to pay attention to well over a dozen different things at once, Zeph would have been able to dodge a flute flying towards his face, but, considering everything else that was going on, the metal rod took him completely unawares. He really needed to stop paying attention to what the offensive team was doing. When the instrument struck him on the forehead, he instinctively tried reaching for it with an arm -- unfortunately, his broken one -- and cringed in pain. A loud curse escaped his mouth as he corrected his careless mistake, allowing his uninjured hand dart up to the wound. He knew from the moment he touched his head that he was bleeding. It stung terribly and he could feel the dampness getting matted into his hair. Glancing at his hand, now smeared with crimson, just gave him confirmation of his suspicions. Initially, he was more concerned about what monkey had developed enough brain cells to start throwing things than about the injury itself, but Eva soon rolled past to provide a sheepish explanation. At first, he gave her a weird look, with one eye narrowed and his head cocked to the side. However, a grin crept onto his face after a few moments, and then quickly progressed into a chuckle, and even a bit of a laugh. His head was bleeding, his arm was broken, and his brain was being assaulted with pain signals from the rest of his body, yet he was laughing. There were probably some people questioning his sanity right about now; trust Zephyr to get his spirits lifted by getting hit in the head by a woodwind. "S'all good, mate," he reassured her between short bursts of laughter, wiping the building water from his eye as he did so, "This's some a' the craziest shit I've been through in a while; it's great."
No, he wasn't a masochist, but this day was just getting more and more absurd. They were in an impossible position, being sieged by an army of flying monkeys -- how could you even hide an army of flying monkeys in this city? -- with just a handful of untrained superhumans who were completely unequipped to handle this situation in any significant fashion and, apparently, were so desperate that they had to resort to using whatever they could find on the ground as thrown projectiles. In his mind, it was completely obvious they weren't going to "win". If things went well, they'd likely be able to contain Serpenta at some point, sure, but unless her consciousness was directly linked to the monkeys, they'd still have an army of angry, airborne primates to deal with. And even if stopping Serpenta meant that her goons would be immediately stopped as well, not only would it mean that people who had been captured would be falling onto the pavement, but this situation had already gone so completely out of control that the media would also be able to spin an anti-hero story about it in a heartbeat. He wasn't laughing because he was enjoying this; Zeph had simply ceased to care about the outcome completely. "Calm yer tits, tattooed wonder," Zeph said, his grinning expression acting as a thin veil over a pained grimace as he linked in to talk to Ezra exclusively. He didn't really want encouragement at the moment, as it made him feel like some sort of obedient dog, but he wasn't going to stop saving people simply out of spite for a professor's good-intended words. "My arm's broke, not my brain. Just keep that net up."
He could judge when to drop people from the monkeys better from a bird's-eye view, so he glanced between his phone screen and the skies as he continued stinging with his little flying machines. When he took a glance upwards, he noticed Eva skating over to him again, this time with a scrap of balloon fabric. Oh, a sling probably wasn't a terrible idea. Folding it into his triangle, he wrapped one corner around his back and over his shoulder, then held it between his teeth as he took the other corner and tied it to the first. The bees didn't stop their work as he did this; he could watch them well enough. "Fnks--" he tried telling Eva as he held a corner of the makeshift sling in his mouth, then repeated himself when he completed the knot and his lips were free: "Thanks, yer a grade A nurse. Would ya mind not goin' too far from here in yer monkey-bashin' quest? I don't wanna' be loosin' more limbs than I got to. Ah, hold up--" Heiko was using a ton of power to attack Serpenta and keep the monkeys out of the skies, and Zeph had known him long enough to know that this sort of exertion in the middle of the day could be pretty draining.
Linking to a speaker on his roommate's person, he asked, "Oi, I didn't bring anything t' kill these freaks with and what I'm doin' now is just a temporary fix. You got enough juice left t' keep killin' these things?" He knelt down and picked up his pocket knife as he spoke, folding back the blade without cleaning off Serpenta's blood and slipping it into his backpack. Although having a weapon was comforting, realistically, a tiny knife wasn't going to help him at all right now. Serpenta's DNA, however, might have potential uses in the future. For science, of course. the usual suspects B) |

Tsubaki’s huffed in and out, this was more nerve wrecking then she thought. And actually, it was quite stupid, as well. She moved in for an attack all by herself, especially one with powers like herself. But then she saw one of the mutation fly by her and towards the enemy. Her head then flickered next to her, seeing Julio. A smile of relief crossed her face.
”Heya!” She happily proclaimed, happy for the compliment. Her attention then went back just as her own attack missed. Her face downtrodden before going into shock as a shadow bolt bounced the weapon back up and actually hit the villain. Thank god for teamwork, she was going to have to high-five Hieko for that!
Her smile grew and she then threw a hand up. ”Ok, this is pretty awesome.” She jumped slightly. ”Also, do you think you can round up one of those weird looking monkeys? I have an idea that could work.” Tsubaki looked around. If these things were mutations and not animals, she might possibly be able to read it. She wouldn’t know how it was like, but it was better than nothing, at least she had the strength with her now.

sweet relief appeared in the ephemeral of a sacred maiden, gifted with not only telepathy but the superpower of smiling in the face of crazed mutant monkeys. that wasn't to say julio wasn't grinning himself but it was something more of a smirk as he struck a pose because what else was someone gonna do with monkeys still kidnapping people.
“awesome?” he repeated it, taking his attention away from the energised girl back to his surroundings. while the monkeys still had people in their possession it seemed like the numbers had stopped piling up - other personifications of sweet relief. serpenta was once again wrapped up in a face-off against professor knightly and who was he to doubt a staff member of vireximus going toe-to-toe with a heinous villain? especially with what could have been her minion most reptilian out for count!! “nay, nay, far from awesome, dearest tsubaki!”
“awe-inspiring, more like,” surely it had to be so far with the way they were levelling things, right? “lady fate forbids such bland words being wielded in these circumstances.” julio was already preparing to find his way back into those still captured, saluting exaggeratedly at her request, “lady fate only concurs with such commands, vegas shall do what he can!” armour was along his arm again, trying to find something that could work for his companion. vegas saw it credible enough to get a monkey in a headlock, arm with the epidermis trying to keep one in place without the risk of that mutated mouth.

The pavement claws at the boy's body as the creature which he clings to pulls him across. His bizarre hand latches on to it, refusing to let go, and though the boy would strongly be regretting his actions, he's too concentrated on stinging pain that rubs against him. His other art tries to find something to grab on to hold down the monster, but before he can, the beast takes flight, raising high into the air.
The flight brings wonderful relief to the boy, no longer being dragged against the ground like a sack of potatoes. But as the creature flies higher and higher into the sky, a new type of thread rises. Looking down as the drop increases from 5 to 50 feet in an instant, Eli's jaw drops. His hand squeezes the creature tighter while pulling himself up to get a better grip and prevent himself from falling.
"Oh man....that's a long drop."
The mutated ape feels no drag from Eli's clinging, letting it fly higher with ease. Eli starts to freak out a bit as his heart pounds hard. His large deformed arm starts to feel soar and exhausted, stressing the boy even more. If his arm gives out, he won't be able to hold on much longer since most of his weight is being held up by it. The situation becomes more bleak as the more tired he becomes, however, his mind moves away from his potential end as he hears a loud familiar voice call out his name. His head plays back the words that he hears.
"Just drop, is that really--"
Before his mind can wrap up his thoughts, a loud screeching noise vibrates through the air, shaking him up. His large hand surrenders, loosening the grip to the creature. His body quickly drops after, falling fast to the ground before the wave of sounds cushions his fall. his back turns to the ground and as he slows down the closer he gets to the ground, his eyes shut tightly in fear of what will come next. The soundwave's power is impressive, softening a drop that would kill any normal being into something like falling from the window of a second floor. Eli's body pounds onto the street, damaging his back with bruises and soars. Not realizing his safe, his eyes keep shut tightly till for a few moments before finally opening them. He landed not far from his rescuer, and as he sits up while rubbing his aching arm, he eyes turn towards the professor. His face forms an apologetic look, dreading how id little escapade seem to have only backfired.
"Po-professor Levesque...thank you."
Eli stays sitting on the ground as his body overwhelms in soars from all that had happened. Rubbing and clawing at this strange arm, the boy signs.
"I'm really not that much of a help in all this."

[attr="class","staffbod"]Just as the spear was about to come down on the masked professor, a hunk of metal hit her and threw her off her guard. Looking up to see who had attacked her, that gave Orrin enough time to contain Serpenta, even though his gas had done little to nothing on her yet.
Struggling against his grip, it was impossible to break free. Letting out an unholy and piercing scream, her mutants echoed the cry and snatched anyone they could, going in to a feeding frenzy. These people were quickly taken away with the mutants until there was nothing left on the street but public chaos and an angry villain.
The authorities took Serpenta into a squad car, her bright yellow hair still visible from the back window, and the mutants had disappeared. The only thing that remained were the heroes and the public, and even though the villain had been contained, countless innocent people were gone, and the victims in the street were numerous.
People started to yell and scream about the student team from Vireximus, about their loved ones that had been forcibly dragged in to the sky. Everything seemed to be safe, but the public could be a formidable foe as they are.
Did you make the right choice?
In accordance with the poll, Serpenta has been apprehended! However, this also means that the civilians that were taken are gone for good. The public is certainly not happy with the students, as their loved ones have been kidnapped indefinitely by Serpenta's minions.
Thank you for your participation in our first event!
