Smothered in the stench of death, an uncomfortable feeling would never lift itself until spring settled in. Evergreens endured this snowy season when others did not. Yet that punch of harden green was the only color besides gray and whites that covered the area.
Puffets of condensed air swarmed around the young woman as she took the path along the lake. Her head bobbed back and forth as she traced the edge of Bay Liu. Other students seemed to be having a snowball fight somewhere close, as their voice echoed off the trees. Their words were still rather muffled from the distance. Smiling, the freshman continued to pace several feet towards the lake and then back towards the path yet again.
Most times Wilhelmina would have joined fellow students in such festivities. However, winter was the most dreaded times of the year for her. Her being out on this day was to think. The seeming still of the world gave her a break from school, duties, and people.
Having started here, the young woman had gotten used to some of the knicks and knacks of the university, whether she had wanted to or not. Just as at “normal” schools, there were people that Wilhelmina would not mind spending several hours with. And then there were those that just could give off such a vibe that would let her give a polite good-bye. Professors had their quirks, but overall the classes were enjoyable. Well, there was the one that bored her out of her mind. Granted that was a different story.
Wilhelmina hummed as she jumped on the path once again. Despite all the snow, the path was well maintained and easy to... “Crrrraaapppp!” Not being in the middle of the path, Wilhelmina felt her foot come into contact with a hard object. Arms flailing at her side, the blonde tumbled backwards into the snow, it covering her all around. Grumpily, she blew at a strand of hair in her face. Just her luck. “Damn. Damn... goddamnit.”
A nice little thought session had been brought to a halt. Closing her eyes, she breathed in before moving her legs and arms outward twice. She hoisted herself up enough to fall back in place on her bum. Whatever she hit caused her foot to hurt like the inferno of the last layer of hell. “Mother of fu-- mother of fudgemuffins.” She hit the ground with her hand, frustrated. “Fu-tatter tots. Did I have to hit last three toes?"
Snow was like a blanket. It gave little (and hurtful) surprises. But it covered the life of the plants underneath it – protecting its slumber until the warmth surged back into the city.
Whether this day would get any better or worse was still yet to be decided.

| I'M TRYING TO HIT THE MARK but i'm shooting with broken arrows | @hugh MEH TEE HEE | Stretch to the left. Stretch to the right. And a deep breath in, hold it, let it go. Tsubaki grinned, looking at the winter wonderland in front of her and somewhere out there her twin was hiding, waiting to strike at the perfect. Slowly pacing herself around the area, her dark eyes glanced around. For now, she was safe no strike attack has happened and this typically happened. When Tsubaki wanted to play and have time with her other half, they would just disappeared out of sight. And the last time she checked they didn’t have invisibility.
Tsubaki sighed to herself and watched the warmth of her breath disappear into the sky. Her eyes glanced over at the schools, in the distance were yelling of other snow fights that where going on. A small smirk crossed Tsubaki’s face; maybe they’ll let her join them! She picked up her pace the loud crunching noises of the snow underneath gave the young freshmen delight. Something about the winter time maybe everything calmer, especially since people would decide to stay inside more often which gave her more mind space an ever calming peace within.
Up a little ways, Tsubaki noticed a person on the ground and she tilted her head a little. Quickly she went up the person and when finally within their vicinity, Tsubaki knelt down and smiled at them. ”Hey, everything ok?” She tilted her head now to the other side. Too bad she could heal or something of the sorts, but you get what you get. Tsubaki blinked slowly, waiting for the girls answer.

As soon as she had sat up, Wilhelmina gave up and crashed back into the soft snow again. Huffing, the puffy coated Dutchie made raspberries from her mouth until she was interrupted. By a voice, a female from the sound of it. Wilhelmina raised a brow at it, glancing in the direction it came from. Shoulder length brown hair, Asian-looking. Looked familiar, but Wil just could not put her finger on where. But t was better to answer the question then just stare blankly at her.
Plus, it was a person. A person with concern. A person that went out of her way to (maybe) help her and not just go past her. This chick got a plus in her book.
As more snow fell between the two girls, it was quiet. Scratching her forehead, Wilhelmina smirked before getting up. “Not really. I think I sprained my ankle on a rock beneath the snow.” She pointed to her feet, where a small brown object was poking out of the white blanket. That was the culprit, right there. And it needed to die. "And I have learned that I am never ever going to veer off the lake path when you cannot see what is in the way...Blarg..." She flailed her arms in the air, upset at the whole thing.
“Tried getting up earlier, kindda, but my ankle and toes hurt like a bitch.” Biting her lip, Wilhelmina's face burned a deep crimson. Some people were not too enthused about her cursing here and there. And this girl might be just the same. “Pardon my French, even though I'm.... yeah...Sorry...” Flustered, the young woman drooped her head, unsure of what else to say. Her predicament was already awful, and making it worse was not going to help.

| I'M TRYING TO HIT THE MARK but i'm shooting with broken arrows | @hugh MEH Late late late. Sorry! | The girl on the cold floor stared hard at Tsubaki. Was something her face? Tsubaki resisted the temptation of brushing her face. Plus if there was something on her face, it would be the snow that feel down softly on the quite day, the sounds of college students started to become more distant. Once the girl started to talk, she pointed to her feet, where there was visible color of a root that slightly stuck out. She guessed it would be dangerous for someone who was not paying attention to trip and hurt themselves, just like this person.
The girl then threw her arms up, frustrated and Tsubaki chuckled slight understanding the ditzyness one could have. Tsubaki tilted her head, wondering why she was embarrassed, if it was because of falling down, it was silly to Tsubaki. But then Tsubaki just cleared her throat.
”Hey, it is fine! We all get our off days. And today just seems to be yours.” Tsubaki rubbed the back of her head with her gloved hand. ”How about we try to get you up and to the nurses room?” Tsubaki suggested, smiling a little bigger. She was only a mind reader and nothing else, although healing does sound pretty cool. There was no one with healing. Or at least nothing coming to mind.
She then walked up closer to the girl and brought a hand out to help the girl up. ”My name’s Tsubaki, Tsubaki Hawthorne.” |

“Yeah, that's true,” answered the blonde, still rather unfortunate of her circumstance. But hey, this girl was nice enough to help. So why spoil something good. Taking the other's hand, who had introduced herself as Tsubaki, Wilhelmina graciously took the other's hand, smiling as she picked herself and brushed snow off her bottom.
This meant that introductions where in order, from her at least. Hopefully, she wouldn't fudge it up like she already had when she was laying on the ground, defenseless and taken down by a rock. “Wilhelmina Bokhoven here. Freshman and plant manipulator extraordinaire.” A grin on her face and flipping her hair back, she had to make a good impression. But she doubted that the other really cared.
As snow still kept falling between the two, she looked over towards the fight of balls of snow. That idea drew further and further away. “It seems like their game is about to end.” She groaned. “That's no fun! And I just had to decide to trip so I couldn't make it.” Lies, but she didn't want to just blurt out to Tsubaki that she absolutely hated this weather with a living passion.
“So, where would you be heading Tsubaki? Anywhere fun?”
**** Sorry this was super, duper late! D:

‘Do you think you will ever make friends? You have this really bad habit of pushing people away. I mean come on Jack, you can’t just sit and have mental conversations with me until you die. God that would be dreadful…I might even have to put you out of your misery!’ Elizabeth was having a completely one sided conversation. Jack was just minding his own business. Minding his own business. That’s generally how all those terrible stories started, this time wouldn’t be anything truthfully different. ‘Besides that you will probably be called on soon, you know there isn’t anything you could do to stay away. Sure! They gave you a nice cushy ride to this nice school, but nothing comes without sacrifice.’ Especially since he had that infernal woman yammering in his ear, her doubts, the technicalities of this enrollment, and the things he would have to do. Oh the things he would have to do.
Shoulders rolled forward, hood pulled over his head, fingers tightly bound in bandages. It was just a jog, and all that Jack wanted was a few hours of silence. No one told him that he couldn’t shut off her voice in his head. Nope. They didn’t even bother including a mute button, for all the money in technology spent it would have been miniscule.
Sweat started to prick at his forehead, steadily trying more and more to get further away from her, but forgetting she was inside of him. It wasn’t hate. It was just the way they seemed to function—albeit poorly. ‘I will make friends mom’ thoughts circulated a response as he had an outward chuckle laugh. Winter wasn’t exactly his favorite season, and there were days that he felt it would be better to have summer always. Though, as the snow littered his path in a dusting white array it reminded him that his work was paying off.
Jack spotted two women in the distance but the haze made it difficult to make them out. He drew closer though, careful to following the path with each footfall. They both looked attractive and the moment he thought it, it was immediately regretted. ‘So you think they are prettier than me?’ another dig, but that was Elizabeth being territorial. Jack figured it would be best to ignore her now. Her advice only counted when it was conducted her way; a frightful fact he picked up on early.
“Do you ladies need some help?” Recognizing how creepy he seemed with the hood and the workout get up Jack peeled it away. Black hair set free, the blue street on one side was an attention grabber.

| I'M TRYING TO HIT THE MARK but i'm shooting with broken arrows | @hugh @jack MEH n/a | Tsubaki chuckled at her new companion and helped her up, taking a step back. “It’s nice meeting you, Wilhelmina. Looks like were both freshmen! But sadly I’m over at the College of Kinesis and ESP.” Tsubaki pouted with her cheeks inflated out. Her eyes than trailed over to the now ending snow ball fight, her head tilted to the side, she guessed snow was good for that use. Coming from California made it a little hard to adjust to this weather, but it was so nice and romantic! She then looked back over at Wilhelmina and slowly blinked. “Oh! I wasn’t going anywhere! Just coming out to clear my head.” She took in a deep breath and deeply exhaled, “I don’t get to experience this kind of weather from where I come from. It’s so fresh.” She smiled contently at the setting around them. “Where you heading anywhere? Or just for that snowball fight?” She extended an arm out with her thumb sticking out. Of course, she could’ve used her powers right after asking her question, but one time, a long time ago, she had gotten in trouble, scaring her school mates when she would have a conversation by herself picking up the answers from their mind. Of course, unlike her younger self, she was able to hold back. But then there were those moments that if an area was too crowded that her mind would get over flooded with people’s thoughts and that are pretty painful experience for a telepath.
Tsubaki then looked over to the new company that came along. Now, it didn’t take Tsubaki long to learn to never trust a hooded stranger who asked questions but it was so tempting to talk to them. Then tilted her head once more, slowly blinking. “Have we met before?” She bluntly stated, crossing her arms, forgetting about the question, her eyes shut tightly in thought.

Well, that blowed. She met someone that did not even go to the same school as her. But actually, after graduation, knowing someone with a completely different perspective. But this girl seemed sorta quirky enough to keep her interest for a while. Unlike some of the people there that seemed as dead as a fucking doornail.
When she mentioned what she was doing, the plant lover grinned, holding her hand in front of her face. It seemed that both were just walking around aimlessly, letting the world take its course. Leaning forward, she giggled. “I might have been, I might have not. This weather, although I've lived with the damn stuff since birth, is my least favorite season. I guess some of it might have to do with the fact that my power doesn't exactly like this white shit either. Kills stuff...” Wilhelmina remarked to the one named Tsubaki.
Before continuing, the snow crunched with more footsteps. Confused at who it could be, she whipped her head to see that there was a guy, or a hooded one looking straight at them. Hood coming off, the stranger's face and dark hair made Wilhelmina's chest go doki-doki. A rosey hue flushed her cheeks, even in this dismal weather. She was getting, hot, flustered, and whatever else people did when they saw someone that was remotely good looking.
Her mouth was about to spew out the worst thing imaginable though her mind was in a different direction. Tsubaki had saved it with a question. Rubbing her hands together, Wilhelmina just softly nodded. “Umm, same question.” The freshman asked, biting her lip from gushing out her normal greeting that consisted of a slew of curses.

There was a pause, the winter wind had stopped just as his hood was drawn back, but at just the same the snowball fight was drawing to a close. A pack of snow whizzed past his head, leaving a skid of snow across the tip of his nose. Smiling, wiping it off with the back of a wrapped hand Jack tossed some snow back—right when the group started to disperse. Focus swiveled back to the ladies, entertaining the questions in order. ‘Have I met her before?’ Jack mentally posed the question to Elizabeth who had previously been on the hunt for information about the first one. It was like having a quick out of body experience Tsubaki was placed in the student center building—it was a long first day at that.
‘Seems like you have mi amigo. Funny you wouldn’t remember the face of a woman you deemed cute.’ There was a lick of venom on her tongue while she pushed the information to the fore front. Something about her unhealthy feeling of being threatened even perturbed her. Shifting back in her imaginative office desk, holding her hand in her head.
‘Ah someone is jealous!’ Triumphantly he thought, taking another dig at her.
“Student center?” Jack answered scratching the back of his head, a trademark gesture these days, while he shifted weight to his right side. Out of habit he slung both hands into the front of his hoodie, not exactly signifying he was cold. Body temperature was regulated by a whole other entity that made sure he was slightly uncomfortable in the jogging suit. A term used loosely as it didn’t coordinate at all only defined colors were the muted black and grey that made him stand out in the white.
Leaning forward to the other girl, head canted to the side “Are you well?” he only asked because of her cheeks. It would be dreadful if she started running a fever because she toppled—or maybe it was because of that snowball fight. “Don’t think we’ve met before though—I would definitely remember such a cute girl.” It was more of a toss to Elizabeth than a compliment though it would sure look like the latter.
‘Keep on pushing my buttons Jack why don’t you?”
