He was in the right place wasn't he? To make it even more awkward, Riku couldn't even hold his school orientation pack, so he couldn't check the map. Every so often, he'd try and ask students, but all they did was stare and increase their pace, trying their best to get away from him. Did he really look that bad? I mean, sure, he was hovering, levitating off the floor, and he had a transparency to his form, but that didn't make him a mean scary ghost! It made him... a student, just like anyone else, right? Oh.. who was he kidding. All the time he looked like and acted like a ghost, he WAS a ghost.
Releasing a non-existent sigh, the boy floated gently, letting white locks flow, and luminous limegreen eyes to flicker, he scanned the hallways. "Okay. Riku. Remember.. Room 101. At least you're getting somewhere." The numbers he were passing were all lower, 1-10, 10-20, and so on. So he was far out reach from where he was suppose to be, but at least he seemed to be in the correct corridor. Oh.. Well. He hoped he was.
A young girl was approaching, holding her books to her chest, and it had Riku focus on her before he smiled gently. "E-Excuse me... Miss." But, as soon as he spoke, she froze, eyes wide, almost as if they were to explode, and she began stuttering. "G...G...G-Ghost!" Instantly, Riku's face showed shock and he floated backward a little before his hands came up in front of his face. "N-No! It's okay! I won't hurt --" But the young girl ended up screaming, clutching her items, and dashing down the hallway, disappearing out of sight. " -- you."
Flopping his arms down by his side in a lazy manner, he grumbled something quietly before he kept floating, keeping his eyes focused for the room number. And soon enough, there it was. Room 101. If he could swallow, he would, showing a nervous response to who might be behind the door. But the thing that made it even worse, was the fact that he couldn't knock unless he possessed something. Ehhh. Peering around, he studied for items, but, there wasn't anything. "Great..."
Wait a minute. What about the door? Turning back, he peered down to study the lock and handle. And rubbing a hand on the back of his head, contemplated doing so to be able to get in. But sighing again, he accepted it, and in using his ability, formed into an orb until it merged with the door. It took a few moments of clicking, but he successfully managed to unhinge the lock, and pry the door open, letting it make an audible creak. De-merging from the door, he showed obvious signs of weakness as his green aura flickered, but the door finally was open.
Slowly, he hovered inside, watching out for someone. "Er... H-Hello? I-I'm Riku? You're new room-mate?" | i had a dream the other night, about how we only get one life, woke me up right after 2, stayed awake and stared at you so i wouldn't lose my mind.
i had the week that came from hell, and yes i know that you could tell, but you're like the net under the ledge, when i go flying off the edge, you go flying off as well.
and if you only die once, i wanna die with - you've got something i need, in this world full of people, this one killing me, and if we only die once, i wanna die with you.

listen to the color of your dream. Zeph had just gotten to his dorm room not too long ago and was still working on hooking up all his electronics to their rightful places. Unlike some technopaths, he had to actually move his electronics by hand. Such a pain... Just being able to make the wires squiggle up the walls and into the right plug would be a pretty neat thing to see. Sometimes he really wished that he had flashier powers so he could do stuff like that, but alas, he had to make a scene the old fashioned way... or at least with copious amounts of technology around. The wall on Zeph's side of the room was steadily turning into a mosaic of displays. None of them were plugged in yet, so they were all currently just useless lumps of metal as far as Zeph was concerned. But soon... soon his minions would live, and conquer everything to the far corners of the internet. Or something like that. To be perfectly honest, Zeph's life goals weren't nearly so grand. Still, the concept of it always gave him a good laugh. Why did villains even want world domination, anyway? It seemed like way too much trouble to be worthwhile. Smirking at the absurd idea of himself being in charge of... well, anything, really... he plugged in the surge protector to which everything connected and felt them all come to life. In the moment when his mind became linked with all of his devices at once, he couldn't be sure, but he was pretty sure he heard someone in the hall scream. Or maybe that was just because Scrillex that started playing. Regardless, this was college, so he wasn't particularly concerned. That sort of thing happened all the time. What was a little weird was when, a little while later, the door unlocked and someone who wasn't Heiko walked -- or, rather, floated -- inside. His name was Riku, apparently, and he seemed to be lost. Well, either that or the school's administration fucked up and put three people in a room. Zeph hadn't "acquired" all of the rooming assignments yet, so he wasn't entirely sure. Zeph just stared at the semi-transparent figure for a few moments, opened his mouth to say something, but then paused. There were a few things going through his head at the moment, and saying them all at once would just come out as gibberish. Pointing a finger at Riku and narrowing his good eye, he asked, "Hologram, ghost, or astral projection? An' regardless o' that, how'd ya' manage to get the door unlocked? I ain't sure, but I'd be willin' to bet ya' don't have a key." Without missing a beat, Zeph stood up and walked over to the kid with glowing green eyes, his speech speeding up as he worked through what was going on. He didn't really expect this Riku guy to have enough time to answer. Reaching out with one arm, Zeph poked the floating figure just to make sure it wasn't some guy in some crazy invisibility outfit, "But if yer incorporeal ya' wouldn't need a key, right? Unless you're a hologram, but yer not, and -- fucking hell you're a ghost! Riku Moore, yeah?" Zeph's eyes went wide as the corners of his lips pulled into a smile. That was actually the neatest thing he'd seen all month. The only reason he knew Riku was definitely a ghost was the student records he just pulled up on one of his computers. Of course, he wasn't displaying it on the screens; that was unnecessary. "Sorry, mate, that's right rude a' me. Zephyr Fear, at your service," he said with a dramatic bow, grinning all the while, "Ya' got any stuff t' bring in?" It had crossed his mind that maybe he should mention that this wasn't the room that Riku should technically be in, but it had also crossed his mind that living with a ghost would be the coolest thing ever, and the latter obviously took priority. @riku | hahaa what is privacy, even. zeph u creeper. |

"Hologram, ghost, or astral projection? An' regardless o' that, how'd ya' manage to get the door unlocked? I ain't sure, but I'd be willin' to bet ya' don't have a key." Blinking in confusion already, he opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. "Errr." But before he could even muster something, the other stood and approached him, standing before him with what seemed utmost curiosity in those eyes. "But if yer incorporeal ya' wouldn't need a key, right? Unless you're a hologram, but yer not, and -- fucking hell you're a ghost! Riku Moore, yeah?" And as he was still speaking, it wasn't until his hand met with his transparent form that it avoided all concepts of mass, and went right through him, causing Riku's green hue to flicker at the interruption.
Wait, did he just say his name? How.. did he know his name? ... Unless he'd been informed of his coming, but usually that info isn't all too important, and most roomies just meet up beforehand or something. "Err.. yeah it is.... And.. y-yeah.. I am... sorta... a ghost. Heh." He shrugged with an innocent expression on his face before rubbing the back of his head, running fingers through his non-existent short white hair.
Everything seemed really awkward for the first moment before he spoke again, and Riku listened while briefly examining the room. "Sorry, mate, that's right rude a' me. Zephyr Fear, at your service," Smiling, his face seemingly beaming with a charm, Riku hovered a little closer before crossing his legs, letting himself levitate casually while in this position. "Aha, nice to meet you Zephyr." Things seemed to be going well, but, he wasn't all too sure he was meant to be here, even if he WAS assigned this room. "Ya' got any stuff t' bring in?"
At that statement, he frowned again before lowering is eyes, and once more letting his legs uncross, hovering gently just above the floor as he always did; his default composition. "Hh.. no. I... I can't exactly, touch anything. And... well.. I don't really.... have any belongings.. since I don't re...remember... anything." It was a momentary sadness but Riku seemed to pick up and he changed the subject a little. "So.. er. I was told this was the room I was assigned to? Room 101? I did... receive a piece of paper with it on, but.. I couldn't exactly carry it." He snickered innocently before once more scratching his head, in what seemed to be nervousness. | i had a dream the other night, about how we only get one life, woke me up right after 2, stayed awake and stared at you so i wouldn't lose my mind.

listen to the color of your dream. Hmm, maybe he should mention to Heiko that they were taking in another roommate. Asking for permission was a little more consideration than Zeph was willing to give at the moment, but at least informing him was better than nothing, right? Probably. Though, spooking Heiko with a ghost was another factor that needed to be considered. That'd be entertaining... until his roommate tied him up in a cocoon of shadow for revenge. Generally Zeph was willing to accept the consequences for his little pranks, but Heiko not only had access to all of his electronics, but he could also get to him in his sleep whenever he felt like it. That said, Heiko had partial immunity from most of Zeph's schemes, and probably deserved to know that they'd be adding a third person to the room today. Fine, fine, he'd text the guy. As he used one of his computers to try to look up Riku in the obituaries, he mentally texted Heiko with the message: "A STRAY GHOST SHOWED UP AT OUR DOOR. I'M KEEPING HIM. THIS YEAR IS GOING TO BE AWESOME." How elegant. "Same 'ere," he cheerily replied to the ghost when he said it was nice to meet him, "An' you can just call me Zeph if ya' want." Zeph was, admittedly, a fan of giving almost everyone nicknames. Just "Ri" or "Ku" sounded weird, though, so this guy might end up with something weird. Like Rikookaburra. Ooh, that wasn't a bad idea, actually... Eh, he seemed touchy about the whole "touching" thing, though. Or maybe it was just the "being dead" thing. Either way, it'd probably be better to get all this messy stuff out of the way right now, right? "Well, this's 101. Says right on th' door. Idunno where they meant t' put ya, but s'long as ya' don't fuck up my computers just by standin' around, mi casa es su casa," he said as he spread his arms, grandly motioning to the rather un-grand room before hopping on his bed in a cross-legged position, "So d'ya mind me askin' how ya' plan to read the textbooks 'n such without touchin' em'? Actually, hold on, first, how'd ya' unlock the door? Now there's a trick I gotta' learn."Zeph seemed to be genuinely interested in learning more about this other student and genuinely oblivious to his nervousness. While the former was absolutely true, which would be made perfectly clear by the surge of questions Riku was about to be assaulted with today, the latter was more of an intentional decision to ignore rather than poor observation. @riku |

"An' you can just call me Zeph if ya' want." Right, okay! Nodding, he let his hovering form glide a little bit, his glowing hues studying the room around him with much curiosity. Everything in here were the common items one would find in a dorm room, computers, personal belongings. "Z-Zeph. Cool." He spoke softly, smiling some as he turned back around to reface his new aquiantance.
"Well, this's 101. Says right on th' door. Idunno where they meant t' put ya, but s'long as ya' don't fuck up my computers just by standin' around, mi casa es su casa," Oh, oops. Glancing back around, he noticed the static his self presence was giving off to those machines, and pulling a grinned expression of innocence, he floated a little further back and away from them. Once they'd stopped and resumed to normal, he lowered his eyes for a moment in guilt until the young white haired spirit shrugged, revealing an adorable innocence about him.
And, when Zeph settled down on his bed, he himself released a false sigh, seemingly showing minor jealousy over the fact that he could sit, and touch, and feel the items around him like that. He missed the ability to do so. To feel soft sheets and warm pillows. All he ever felt, was bitter coldness, and apparently, when others interacted with him, he gave off that aura of coldness, like ice. "So d'ya mind me askin' how ya' plan to read the textbooks 'n such without touchin' em'? Actually, hold on, first, how'd ya' unlock the door? Now there's a trick I gotta' learn." To this question, Riku glanced to the books beside him on the students desk and he smiled.
"Well, erm. I am capable of interacting with some items --" But he was paused and the subject of the door came up. "O-Oh, that. Heh." He rubbed the back of his own neck. Capable of touching his own form, but not others, he shyly approached the door. "Like I mentioned.. I can interact with some items, but only, for a short period of time." He hovered for a moment, before his spectral formation disappeared, diminishing into a green glow, hovering. He quickly merged with the door, and after several seconds .. 'CLICK'. The lock released and the door, slowly creaked open. The entire door itself, held a glowing green aura, to represent Riku's merging with the item. And, once he was done, he formed back to his usual spectral self not too far from Zeph.
However .... it seemed Riku, was exhausted, but only briefly. The green aura flickered around him, and he showed weakness and minor diminishing. He seemed to slowly hover downward, and sitting cross-legged, inches from the floor, he weakly glanced back up to Zeph. "I.. It kinda... takes... it out... of me... to do those... things." He chuckled and shrugged. "So... yeah. Erm. I was sent here. Because... well... I don't sleep, or eat, or... anything really. So, they though it would be okay, with other students." He grinned and watched his new buddy before he sighed. "And.. feel free to ask questions. I haven't properly spoken to anyone in years." | i had a dream the other night, about how we only get one life, woke me up right after 2, stayed awake and stared at you so i wouldn't lose my mind.
and if you only die once, i wanna die with - you've got something i need, in this world full of people, this one killing me, and if we only die once, i wanna die with you.

listen to the color of your dream. Aah, so Riku was the one causing him to pick up weird signals from the electronics in the room. Zeph wasn't really surprised. At least it wasn't as terrible as it could have been; he wasn't pulling a Jolie and breaking everything. "Oi, don't worry 'bout it. No harm in th' form ofa electronics apocalypse, no foul," Zeph reassured the apologetic-looking ghost, "They're kinda' my specialty, so I like havin' at least one functionin' computer or somethin' around." Zeph grinned and pointed behind him to the wall of assorted monitors. On cue, they all lit up, revealing webpages primarily containing text. Some appeared to be social networking sites, while others were digital textbooks, and a few were kept intentionally nondescript; all of them scrolled from time to time a he mentally read through the information on the page. Zeph was going to be asking Riku as many questions as he could think up about being a ghost, so he might as well share a bit about himself in return, right? As most people in this school would tell you, Zeph's power was one of his defining traits. "Ah, that makes some sense I gue-- woah," Zeph had begun talking when Riku hovered over to the door, but then the ghost just merged with it to make it all green and glowing. And then it unlocked and opened all on its own. Zeph just stared for a moment, his eyes wide and jaw slacked. When Riku rematerialized, Zeph stared at him like he had just found a unicorn. "That is fucking awesome," he finally declared with excitement, the corners of his lips curving into a grin as a devious light danced in his eyes. The gears in his mind were spinning at full speed. Would it be weird to ask someone he just met to help him break into a room? Yeah... yeah, probably. He also didn't seem like the type of person who'd be willing to break into a room because of personal morals or something. That's fine, there wasn't any rush, but holy shit this was exciting. This kid had so much potential. Zeph was about to blurt out something about how convenient not eating or sleeping would be (he almost couldn't even imagine all the things he could get done with that kind of free time), but before he could say anything, Riku told him to feel free to ask questions. He actually had permission for once! This day just kept getting better and better. Still, Zeph couldn't help but scoff "Pff, trust me, mate, I was gonna' ask 'em anyway. This's just too fuckin' cool," he gestured to the ghost with both his arms, "Like now, you're not even doing anything but you're fuckin' levitating and your eyes are doin' that wicked glowing thing and you can just phase through shit like it's nothin'--" Zeph leaned down over the side of his bed and waved his hand through Riku's shoulder for the sake of demonstration. Or, if we're being perfectly honest here, for the sake of his own entertainment, "I think those years 'o not talkin' to folks got you too humbled. How many years you been dead, anyway? That's why you haven't been havin' conversations, yeah? What've you even been doin' all this time? For th' love a' google please don't tell be you've been hiding out in a crypt or somethin'."@riku | 8l I apologize for Zeph's complete and utter lack of sensitivity |
