Taking a healthy swallow of the chai latte that she had purchased on her way to the usual classroom that art club tended to take place in, Hadley took a seat at one of the available chairs, dropping both her old, and ragged, backpack and large sketchbook onto the floor next to her purple sandal-clad feet. She inhaled deeply, savouring the strong scents of the various art equipment that filled the room. Hadley enjoyed being a part of the university’s art club. It was obvious by the eager smile on her glossed lips and the spark that sparkled in the cool depths of her blue eyes. Few of her classes ever brought such an alertness out of the blonde, who would often draw, simply and half-heartedly, through the final hour of each lecture, her attention long since drifted off to more interesting things. The turn-out wouldn’t be great for this meeting. Hadley had already heard that the club’s president wasn’t feeling too hot, and so would be giving the day’s meeting a miss. Which probably wouldn’t have bothered Hadley all that much, if she weren’t the art club’s vice-president. It was a position that Hadley had cautiously accepted, believing that it would make her seem more appealing in a sponsor’s eyes when it came time for her graduation – a girl whose power to bring art to life, being vice-president of one of two clubs that she participated within. And also because she had been lead to believe that the club’s president would be doing 90% of the work. Hadley being comfortable about only being responsible for the remaining 10% For as much as Hadley enjoyed being a part of the art-club, she wasn’t much of a team-player. Hadley had always been comfortable and confident in taking care of her own means. Being responsible for others, in any way shape or form, made her … uncomfortable. @dee3 @etoile3 |
