The blonde groaned as he felt his head fall on the copy of a rather scary looking book titled THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIETAL EFFECTS OF SUPER-SPONSORS. Why was he back in the library? He had spent all of last year searching it and there was nothing, nothing of use. It was late, he was tired, he knew no more than he used to, his grades were falling, why did he even care about his grades ugh. You could always ask your parents, the familiar little voice rang once again in his head but Matt shook the thought away quickly. No, he wasn't doing that. He didn't need to do that, not yet at least. He hadn't seen them since he got his name changed a year ago, asking for their help...especially since it was for their help to turn against their jobs, would just be awkward and he'd rather avoid that. But still...the boy felt his eyes get heavy, it would be a lot easier than searching around in these pieces of junk. if a hero could not avoid two meagre librarians he would barely be fit to be called a hero!! and sometimes heroes had to lie low, however dastardly the happenings in the world. so julio was trying to be as silent as possible. which was hard - he'd spotted three people that oh so desperately were begging for the advent of vegas… unbeknownst to them, but that didn't make their cries any less legitimate.
but he was also here doing other hero work, so their tender calls would have to be answered another day! for now, it was investigation. and his attention was directed to the numbers on the book spines in the shelves in comparison to the numbers he'd scribbled on his palm of his hand.
and, off the record, this heroic investigation was being sabotaged by these numbers. in the dramatic rush, julio was unsure of the factuality of these numbers. a return trip to check a holy information map begged risks, however. would he be able to make it? would the fiendish forces of the faculty have their victory? julio exhaled exasperated and loudly - a breath he hadn't realised he'd been holding!!! - and pushed himself up from crouching. the bottom shelf revealed nothing that could help him on his quest and, instead, he made a move to the bare expanse of library when he saw one.
it appeared this first assault hadn't been worthless! there was just the small issue of the book being preoccupied; the novel was already in the hands of another, words eagerly devoured by their eyes…
but perhaps a student who would be cooperative. it just remained that julio get their attention and approaching them would maybe be wise, but he'd be out in the open. out of character for vegas as well which was also a priority in these trying times!
so julio tried to hail the other student with words, instead. quiet words, keeping in mind the constraints of the situation, “pssst, over here.” and julio hoping the beckoning gestures from the shelves were enough to get the other student to her over there.

He picked his head up, yawning as he continued to read the monotonous text. He needed a coffee, really. A dazed smile spread on his lips at the thought of the warm, rejuvenating cup, but quickly faded away as he dug into the book. It was surprisingly useful, a rare gem, complete with multiple interviews and facts and subjects the other books he had scanned didn't seem to have. To bad it was dry as a bone, with his marginal reading history it was kinda hard to read as well. Though Matt would hardly admit that. "pssst,"Matt ignored the loud whisper, assuming it was for some other student as he continued reading, the whisper continued however and the annoyed and dead-eyed Matt couldn't help but spin around and glare at the source, putting a finger to his lips in a ginger request for silence. some people were trying to get work done. ah, this was not how vegas had anticipated this to go down! he'd expected the student to accept destiny's summons, approach with wide-eyed wonder and offer the book on the clarification that lady fate needed it! but there was only silence and all there was to acknowledge the presence of the hero of justice was a 'shush' motion before the other turned back to the book.
could vegas have expected much else in the library? truly, a damning place if any on campus existed. enthusiasm trickling away julio resisting making any noise of frustration. he didn't need to remind himself that this was only the beginning of a grand challenge. there were plenty of more opportunities, and ways, to get his hand on that book.
taking a moment to check the coast was clear, a left look than right look along the shelves of the books, julio decided it was safe enough to make his move. pace quick, he stalked across the floor as quietly as possibly. a task for him, yes, but he thought he was being somewhat discreet! admittedly, he wasn't as discreet as his hand thudded down alongside the table. looming over the sitting blond, and attempting to get a look at that book, at least julio kept his voice hushed, “vegas needs you.”
