Danial was enrolled in so many classes. Too many in his opinion--not enough in his father's. It was just another thing that was expected of him as the son of the Great Watto Williams! Ugh. Danial's powers hadn't even kicked in yet. Well, his super smarts hadn't. Other... incidents had happened, but Danial would tell anyone who asked that he didn't have powers yet. Nonetheless, the boy still liked the College of Kinesis. It was a cool place to hang out, whether he felt he belonged or not.
At present, Danial was sitting out front of the building with a larger than usual textbook open in his lap. Had he inherited his father's abilities, memorizing this stuff would be no problem, but quantum metaphysics just didn't click in Danial's mind. At all. He didn't expect to pass the class. Still, he wouldn't give up. He had spent nearly all of his eighteen years of life trying to live up to unreasonable expectations, and that had meant a lot of studying. If no one came to distract him, Danial would sit right here reading this book until he couldn't any longer.

Eli sits just across from his classmate Danial, struggling with the same material but with a different mind set. He wants to rush through and get through as much of the equations as possible to he can finally get out of the study halls. Being stuffed into cramped places for long always puts him on edge.
"Hey, you know how to do this one?"
Eli turns his book to face Danial with a slight confused look. His finger then points at a rather long equation that extends to the next page. His memories of the problem escapes from him though its likely due to the fact that he's been starring at the book and his history of heroes essays. The ink on the pages are staring to blur as his eyes wander over and again towards the light breaching through the window. |

Danial runs a hand through his short hair and feigns patience as his eyes go to the other's book. He knew this kid, didn't he? They had class together. Not that Danial paid enough attention to any of the other students in class. No time for that. For all he knew, the pair could have the exact same schedule and Danial just wouldn't notice. When he wasn't fixed on the lecture or taking hastened notes, he had his nose in a book. He needed to: there was no other way he was going to pass his classes except for constant studying.
It took a second for the new material to register. Danial had already gone over this in the book, but hours ago. He sighed as he glanced about the page, looking for useful information. He pulled his notebook over and copied the equation and necessary information from the problem. "You just need to solve for this before integrating and substituting. That should get you the right answer." There were about a dozen steps to do that, but that's how Danial understood the process--by which I mean he could struggle through the problems on his own and 'understand'.
With his classmate helped, Danial went right back to his own book. Or, tried. If this guy didn't go away, he couldn't exactly focus on his own things. Maybe he should take a break, anyway. He had been sitting here for a couple hours already.

Eli's eyes widen as he watches Daniel flipping through the text for a moment. Eli starts to slightly pout unable to follow the process the student before him takes. All he could really do is stair as Daniel starts to scribble down the equation, breaking down, and reformatting to create the final result. Confused, Eli tilts his head to the side while unable to process the information. Agitated and mentally exhausted the boy just gives up slamming his head onto the desk. He hates being pent up in one place so long. Absolutely hates it.
"Uuuuugh."
He softly moans as his arm stretches out. The fingertips of his hands snag onto the text book and with the pull of his entire body, drags it close back to him. He then quickly stands up and starts stretching while gathering his things from the table. He's far too antsy to be able to continue on his studying and will likely have to return the following day.
"How do you manage to stay on this task for so long? I'm already on edge with studying that I can't" even think right from up."

An eyebrow quirked up at the display of frustration. Danial was more annoyed that he was being distracted than anything else. He just wanted to get through this textbook, was that too much to ask? Yes. Yes, it was. But the boy didn't have a choice. It was his social life (and most likely health) or academics. In the Williams family, the choice was clear.
With his eyes locked back on his book as he flipped pages, Danial tried to get focused again. "Don't have a choice." How was this kid so intolerant of the content? He was apparently in classes just as advanced as Danial was. Complaining about the work wouldn't get it done.

Eli stretches out his thin arms into the air, pulling he shoulders close together till a quiet crack in his spine is made. His arms then reach over the table to start gathering up his belongings. He stacks up textbooks belonging to the school in a separate pile than the books belonging to him. As he's nearly done with organizing he looks up to the person across from him, still struggling with his work.
"Is it scholarships?"
His arms almost move on their own, snagging his belonging into his large duffel bag. He's all to familiar with the sensation, experiencing it since as early as pre-k. Quick to gather his things, but somehow always be neat about it too. Eli was never the type to linger around in classes he wasn't overly fond for, but neither did he like to dig through his bag for a misplaced pencil.
"Breaks every now and then do help though. Keeps you from burning out too much you know. I would know, got parents who work too much for their own good."

Scholarships. What a novel idea. If only it were something so trivial. Money definitely wasn't the issue here; Danial's father made plenty from his inventions. No, it was about something Danial took much more seriously. "Yeah, something like that..." Danial knew he was being dismissive, but he was trying to focus. If he didn't get this done soon, he wouldn't have enough time to get all of his other work done. If Danial couldn't keep up with his work, well... He just needed to keep up with his work.
In an effort to be somewhat courteous, Danial tore his eyes away from the textbook to blink up at his classmate. Was this interaction going to continue? Danial certainly wasn't going to put any effort into it.
Breaks were a thing of legend to Danial. He definitely didn't have time for them with how much material he always needed to cover. He wouldn't have anything to do on a break, either.
