[attr="class","appbold"]HISTORY:
- Even before his powers manifested, Erik came from an unstable household. His parents weren't on good terms, but they tried to make it work for his sake. However, when Erik's mother died from a car accident on her way home from a night of drinking when Erik was twelve, his father redirected his violent temper and abusive acts towards his son. Erik's powers manifested when he was sixteen. Initially, he thought that he had gone completely insane, but when his father started shouting and calling him a demon after grabbing his wrist, he knew something was up. Although he initially looked normal, the mutation of his eyes occurred a few days later (accompanied by bloody tears and a splitting headache). He was quickly alienated at school and in the town where he lived.
By the end of the school year, a man came to talk to him about a job opportunity. He wanted the boy to be a villain, but not a real one. All he needed to do was act psychotic and get accused of some pretty dark stuff. He didn't even need to hurt anyone. At least, not physically hurt them; his power was only illusions, after all. Erik accepted almost immediately. He believed that everyone already hated him, so this couldn't possibly be hurt more by this decision. The next seven years of his life were spent training, terrorizing society, and putting on a good show for the news cameras. He made a pretty convincing nihilistic sadist. Still, the older he got, the more Erik realized this wasn't how he wanted to live the rest of his life. Making people cry and scream in agonizing pain and paralyzing fear didn't give him any pleasure; even if most of them were just actors, they still had to experience it to make it seem real. Plus, he certainly wasn't do go down in history as the psychotic bastard who couldn't do anything other than hurt and destroy. Quitting at the end of his 10 year contract, he floated around the seas of unemployment for a while until, to his utter surprise, getting accepted for a teaching position at VU. This will be his first year teaching there.

[attr="class","appbold"]POWERS:
- PRIMARY POWER: fear manifestation.
Erik's power makes him see the world in a very different light. Although all of his senses are affected, his eyes are the most visibly changed, having blood red irises and an inky sclera. Whenever he sees someone (either a human or animal with sufficient intelligence), he sees one of their greatest fears as well. Sometimes it's in the form of another object (such as a bomb, an angry dog, or even another person), while other times it's an alteration of the person's own body (such as becoming pregnant, obesely overweight, or burned alive). Fears that are related to the environment, such as heights or being stranded in a desert, cannot be manifested, so even if such a thing is someone's greatest fear of all, one of their other fears will be shown. Erik doesn't decide which fear he sees, as it depends more on the person he's looking at than himself. However, if they're thinking about a specific fear, that will usually be the fear Erik sees, so he can generally change what he's seeing just by talking to them. To Erik, these fears have realistic visual, audible, olfactory, gustatory, and (to some degree) tactile aspects, but they cannot physically interfere with him since they don't have any real substance. The most unfortunate side effect of his power is that, after a few minutes of being completely alone, he begins to see his own fears in the same fashion.
When he touches a person (only direct contact with living cells - touching clothes or hair won't work) who is awake, their fear manifests for that person as well. It also usually amplifies (if their fear was a dog, it may become a pack of dogs) and expands to fit whatever setting they're in. The person experiences all of the same sensory perceptions as Erik, but can also feel pain if applicable (usually from body-horror type fears or being attacked by their fear). However, they will not undergo any physical damage and cannot die. If their fear is dying in some way, they will usually just fall unconscious. The hallucination is maintained for as long as physical contact is maintained. If the person he touches is asleep, they'll be forced into REM sleep and begin having vivid nightmares, while Erik will go into an unresponsive daze, begin getting symptoms of haemolacria, and enter the nightmare with them for a few real-time seconds until contact is broken or the nightmare ends. On a related note, Erik has a lot of trouble sleeping, especially when alone, since he has experienced nothing but nightmares ever since his power manifested. - Technically, he can touch more than one person at once, sleeping or not, and they will all be able to see each other's fears, but then their fears begin combining and mutating, and that's usually too terrifying for even him to deal with.
This power is rather unpredictable, since there's no way to tell how a person will react to a hallucination of their fear. Some quickly break under the pressure, while others emotionally wall themselves off, and still others might have other strong emotions, like rage, associated with their fear. Just because someone's afraid of what he shows them doesn't mean that they'll no longer be a threat. Additionally, the hallucinations, especially those which alter the image of the person themselves, often leave Erik at a disadvantage since he can't tell what's actually there.
Erik cannot see or manifest the fears of people with defenses against mental intrusion.
SECONDARY POWER: corpse manipulation.
This power is not resurrection or reanimation, as it does does not return any part of a person's spirit to the body. The dead body acts as a highly specialized puppet which he can manipulate (just as a student in the Liu College of the Elements can manipulate their respective element) somewhat like clay to fashion to his liking as long as it is within 15 feet of his head. He cannot receive sensory perception from these puppets and may only control three corpses at a time. If a corpse becomes disconnected, he will only be able to control three parts of it. For example, if a corpse is so decayed that only the bones are left, he would only be able to control three bones at a time. However, he can manipulate parts of corpses to fuse them together so that they are no longer disconnected.
Naturally, he isn't allowed to make human constructs due to many people's religious beliefs about desecrating a body. He also cannot effectively control the fine motor skills of his puppets without intently concentrating. During such concentration, he loses much awareness of his own body and begins having symptoms similar to haemolacria: a splitting headache and blood running from his eyes, nose, and mouth.- Since he can't stop the body from decaying, it's not generally in his best interest to always have a flesh puppet on hand. However, he does generally carry a set of bone knifes on his person and is highly proficient with fighting with them while doing hand-to-hand combat.
It should also be noted that he cannot manipulate or control the bodies of undead creatures, such as vampires.
