it wouldn't fit. so jolie just tried to shove it in harder. hunched down beside the door frame, stack of leaflets cast aside on the floor save a couple being roughly wedged beneath the door itself, she'd set herself a goal that morning: distribute leaflets and put up posters advertising the first "skeptic" club meet or don't even bother returning to her dorm. the beginning of the semester was the best chance to get new members so jolie wasn't letting the opportunity escape her. even if she took the opportunity when, it turned out, a lot of freshers had headed out for classes monday afternoon leaving no-one to leaflet. that just meant that jolie had to use her famed alternative thought for alternative means of leafletting. blu-tacking them sounded like a good idea but she knew better than that – blu-tack was only a finite resource, yeah? she needed to keep it in reserve. sneaking them under the door was the best idea. jolie's first deployment of this master plan meant one brochure jammed stuck in the undercut of the door, though. it just needed an even stronger force, jolie reminded herself. maybe it was the door's fault – door sabotage. giving up from her frantic sliding, jolie shifted her position on the floor, palms resting behind her and slouched as she looked up at the full height of the door. she'd kinda tried to pull it out again anyway but it was hard taking it out as it was getting it through. she furrowed her eyes in thought, consider that maybe even more alternative thought was needed to sort out this jam. so more force! lifting a leg from the floor, the sole of her shoe thudded against the door several times, thinking it'd maybe dislodge it. scrambling to back around, jolie tried to shove the pamphlet under a the door again. still no dice. huffing, she moved back to kick at the door again. it just needed more force. WILLIAM CONROY / um maybe will's passing by maybe that's his room maybe he's in the room whatever works for you… *w*

Morning classes sucked. At the time choosing early classes in favor of having a free rest of the day seemed like a good idea, but as one might imagine it did nothing to keep a young man like William from being dead tired afterwards. William had hoped he could use his free time to enjoy himself and create fun little memories, but right now he just wanted to curl up on his bed and sleep.
Will rubbed his eyes as he made his way into Evers Hall. As he hobbled toward his dorm, Will grumbled endlessly about his Elemental Manipulation class and how much fun it is to have no idea what the flying hell the teacher was talking about. This stuff wasn't going to help him understand his power, it was just a bunch of words. Words couldn't do shit for him. Though who knows; it's only the start of the semester, maybe it wont turn out to be a complete waste of his time. William was just rounding out his complaints as he approached his dorm...and some chick messing with his door.
Will arched his eyebrows as he watched the girl struggle. What was she trying to do? She was grappling with some sort of pamphlet, but Will couldn't tell if she was trying to push it in or pull it out. He probably would have made his presence known sooner if the sight weren't so damn amusing...but after a bit it kind of just looked sad so he spoke up.
"So hey, this is questionable."
Well that's what he intended to say but he kind of grumbled it out so what the girl probably heard was a tired mass of sounds that sounded kind of like words. Will realized this shortly after and shook his head a bit before deciding to clarify, "Yeah what are you doing?"

jolie halted her kick when she heard the voice. “how long have you been there?” jerking away from the offending door in surprise, her foot remained frozen in the air as she twisted her neck to look at the speaker. while she was obviously bewildered jolie also looked affronted at the sudden voice – sudden for her, anyway, given she hadn't noticed him however long he'd been there. initially looked surprisingly insulted at what he said, even if it'd been a little. and then, something else dawned on her face, the same serious intensity she'd displayed when unintentionally trying to kick in the door. “that's good. everything is questionable. you've got to question it all, yeah?” and with that, the bottom of one of her mary janes ferociously slammed into the bottom of the dorm door again. she'd kept her eyes on him as she did that but now the kick as over she took her attention off him for a few seconds to resume shoving at the brochure through the tiny space under the door. “though, mate, don't worry, i'm an RA – resident assistant,” her attention was focused on the leaflet but jolie tried to clarify to him. it was an attempt at soothing but came off pretty blithe. coupled with what could have been chipped paint on the door, it seemed like jolie didn't particularly care about the presence of the newcomer or, more importantly, state of the door. his door, but that hadn't dawned on jolie just yet. on the other hand, the fact more shoving wasn't going to work again had and she stopped, returning her attention to her new company. “i'm not an RA of this dorm. for obvious reasons,” jolie tugged roughly her loose short skirt to illustrate those reasons, undershorts the only thing keeping her decent through her kicks and that gesture, “but i'm allowed to do this sort of thing, yeah? yeah?” “i know my rights all proper-like.” and with that jolie gave one final one final, exaggerated push but to no success. the pages of the pamphlet were crinkled and creased from her efforts. exhaling loudly, the junior inched away a little from the door because this was a situation of double no dice. did vireximus university specifically pick doors so that things couldn't be slipped under them – maybe even specifically skeptic club things? jolie was beginning to think that was the case. that prompted another round of "alternative thought" but, with that, jolie's demeanour towards the other guy changed. her whole attitude had been aggressive and uncaring but then jolie glanced at him with renewed interest. she didn't recognise him at all. a freshman maybe? new member lights went flashing off in her mind and she scrambled off the floor, “wait, who're you? haven't seen your face before.” “and wanna help with what i'm doing?” something she'd never specified to the guy. it wasn't like jolie had intentionally left out the answer or thought it was obvious. she had just forgot he'd even asked. William knit his eyebrows as the girl began to babble. Once in a while she would say something that sounded like a question but before Will could answer she would start up again. W-what was going on here? Who was this girl? Why was she out of her mind? He makes a crazy person a resident assistant? Isn't that something a school would want to avoid? Blood pressure and all that? His expression became grimmer as the girl turned back to her work on the door for one last push. She was totally scratching it up with her pounding. Will didn't mind too much, it was just a door, but he wondered how his room mate would take it.
Finally the girl decided to mellow out and talk to him like a normal human. Can humans be normal? Eh he'll save that tirade for another day. She asked him two questions and finally stayed quiet long enough for him to answer. Will cleared his throat and adjusted his right leg, putting most of his weight on it. His backpack was killing him. "Eh yeah, you probably haven't. I'm new, just started classes."
Will stretched his shoulders backward. His expression became softer, revealing how tired he was. He didn't give the girl his name, he only did that if he thought that he was going to bother to interact with someone more than once. He did not intend to see this oddball again. He examined the stack of pamphlets on the floor. Skeptic club, what was that? The girl said she needed help, what with passing out these? Will narrowed his eyes and thought for a moment. He smiled. He could totally screw with her.
Will kept up his smile and finally responded, "Yeah I could help with...whatever you're doing. Not like I have anything better to do today." A scheme was formulating in his head as he peered to the girl. He couldn't wait to see how she would react, it'll be a riot. He bent down to gather the pamphlets but almost immediately shot back up. The damn backpack was too heavy; the damn thing might as well have been stabbing his back. He rolled his neck and took his room key out of his pocket. "If you don't mind I'd actually like to put away my stuff first." he looked to the girl and then looked to his door. He cleared his throat to make his point clearer before waiting for her to move out of the way.
