that night a summit of soccer had been convened for lady fate's appointed team! and t'was partially on the basis that, unsurprisingly, “lady fate's appointed team” was not an entirely suitable name for five super-powered students and one manager attempting to go undercover in an amateur five-a-side league. a plan concocted by the joint efforts of vegas, hero of justice, and riley tuff, a companion of honour, with then the prime time to settle all manner of such a plan. plus julio wanted to do this quickly as it was cold out on the pitch and the hero of justice had another gravely important quest set afterwards: a holy mcdonald's date with honoured olly. a ball under his arm following an impromptu kickabout, he eagerly looked on those who had turned up. the floodlights lit vireximus' pitch on the wednesday night; it'd been a little over an hour since the official vireximus university's soccer club had ended one of its weekly practices. not all of their team were members. their pick had not been from the midsts of the club but, rather, anyone who'd taken down the number on a few haphazardly stuck up posters proclaiming vaguely about an independent, five-a-side soccer team being set up. after all, if they needed to keep their air of mystery – and maintain the necessary secrecy – there couldn't be too much information given away! a limitation that could be done away with given that most of them were there. so grinning giddily, and tossing the ball once under his arm to olly, julio used his free hands to pose. hands up in front of his face, forming a butterfly-like shape vegas proclaimed, “have the chosen ones assembled at last?” and out of what he believed to be courtesy he looked to riley, eager to see how she would approach the newly formed team. So, these were, as Julio styled them, 'the chosen ones'. Riley tore her gaze from Julio's dramatic pose to instead look over the students who had assembled on the pitch. She was not sure what she had been expecting from simply tacking up flyers with vague information regarding starting a soccer team on them, but this was certainly not it. Only one of the people who had showed up besides herself and Julio was in the soccer club, which meant he was the only one she was sure knew how to play. It looked as though they had some work ahead of them.
"Alright, here's the deal. Julio and I want to play soccer. Real soccer, not this pansy practice stuff," Riley began, punching Julio a bit too enthusiastically on the shoulder when she mentioned him, "but no one wants to play against a team full of superheroes. So, here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna pretend we don't have powers and form a five-a-side team. We can join some amateur league and play for real." She didn't mention that she herself wouldn't have to pretend, as she had no powers to begin with. She found herself grinning at the thought of an even playing field... well, sort of.
Though at this point it may have been standard procedure to introduce herself and ask the same of the others, Riley skipped the formalities and moved straight into the important questions. "How many of you have actually played soccer before?" She asked roughly, raising a hand to point at Olly as she stared at the others with her free hand on her hip, "Besides you."

Lunchable in her hand, Wilhelmina's eyes just followed the two excited co-captains, or what have you, getting excited pumped and rather into this. Soccer, a sport that Wilhelmina never really understood the significance of besides her parents decking out in full plastered orange around the time of the World Cup. Needless to say, physical education got her used to most aspects of the sport – as they would fling her out into the offensive part of the team. She was small, she was quick. And for the super star athletes in high school, that was all that mattered.
Flat out after the girl was finished and Julio was still acting like, well, the complete, utter joyous ass that he was, the freshman spoke her mind. “Well, besides high school, I have done shit with playing soccer.” Her blue eyes glanced at the female, who she had not seen before. “ Unless you talk about knowing soccer... having family fanatics, I understand how the game works, if that helps you any.”
Yup, quick and easy answer while she nibbled away at her food. On the side, a little poot-sound went off as her insulin entered her system. Oh, that fun they were going to have. At least kicking here didn't mean she had to kick a poor monkey in the face.

A disgruntled red head sat across a desk, his arms crossed and his eyes dark, not just from anger, but also a lack of sleep. His advisor looked at Theo and sighed. “Ok, I’ve seen this go up around the campus.” He presented a flyer and held it out for Theo who just stared at it for a moment before snatching it out of the older man’s hand. He looked over it and sighed at the content; five-a-side soccer league. “I believe you should interact with superpower people. See their side of life.” The professor sat back in his leather chair and crossed his arms, staring at the young man. Theo crumpled the papers in his hands.
He looked around the field at to whom the other players where. He crossed his arms and took a look at his watch. The more time he wasted here the more crime that was going on out there beyond the campus. Inside he was screaming, this was just ridiculous but no one was going to say that out loud so he kept his mouth shut. His eyes settled on one person in particular, one that he had met under a different persona and yet this person in front of him needs to get a better disguise. Theo then fought hard not to roll his eyes, “the chosen ones” his butt. Theodore then raised an eyebrow at the girl next to Julio, which was his real name, that punch showed she wasn’t super strength. And he trusted his instincts, being punched by both a super strengthened hero who too was a female. But if they needed someone to know the game, they got the right manager; sports were a favorite part time of his when he was in grade school and secondary school. Yet it seemed like another person was singled out, so there was one person who knew.
Theo’s dark eyes looked over at another girl, and now there were two that knew. Yet, this one seemed to have an attitude about here, perfect. Theodore cleared his throat and shrugged. ”An’ if you be lookin for someone else whose played, you be lookin at your manager.” Theo threw his arm out and bowed his head slightly before crossing his arms once more. Hopefully the accent would through off the man in front of him, thank god for his New York education.

call him easily pleased, but few things made olly happier than being able to run free and kick his peers in the ankles. to him, it was the purest joy known to man.
the whole team ball sport part was good too, he guessed.
with the post-practice kickabout winding down, he was starting to get impatient - he could hear the chicken mcnuggets calling his name. but julio had had another of his Genius Julio Ideas, apparently, which at least bore listening to. after all, as ridiculous as they usually were, they tended to be good fun too...
he caught the ball reflexively, genuinely surprised at himself for managing. "chosen for what, mate? somethin' about fate again?"
oh, so that's what they were doing. he found himself grinning - undercover five-a-side was an interesting idea, but with people who'd never played before in the team it edged into downright hilarious. riley's explicit exception of him prompted an out-loud laugh, even as he pulled off the thin hairband he usually wore during practices. "oi, you're robbin' me of the chance to start talkin' about all the medals i've won."

(Omg you guys! Why didn't you skip me! I told you guys you could!)
Eli looks straight at the two leading the party while glancing around at everyone. Their faces aren't unfamiliar, not many are at this point on campus, but not one standing around seem to have any connection to him. Riley could possibly be an exception after having spent time with her while stranded in the forsaken parts of the city. But nothing much has happened after. Just in the now as Eli manages to blend behind the small crowd as he huddles in his hoodie for warmth.
His head then tilts at the mention of the words "chosen one" as if these people had gone through great lengths to be where they are right now. Reality really was that the boy didn't have much plans for anything and seeing the words soccer on a flyer just peaked his attention. Otherwise he'd be huddled in a cramp room, and though he enjoys the company of his roommate, the sensation of being closed off is uncomforting.
"I've mostly played lacrosse, but I think I can kick a ball around well enough."
The boy mumbles a bit after each person states their abilities. Eli senses a falseness of casual play he got from the flyer as it seems more like a tryout for a talent show. Then again, all he saw from the flyer are five-a-side and soccer which was good enough to bring him this far. He's also starting to gain some interest in seeing where this will go as apparently everyone will have to imitate being normal people as if it's a difficult task.
The boy almost starts to slip back into total silence as he usually does, but as he starts to think about the situation a bit more he starts to wonder why they all have to stand outside and suffer in the dark and cold for introductions.
"Um just wondering...couldn't we have just used one of the gyms around here? We are only six people. Doubt we'd need the whole field...at night...in the cold..."
