jolie had decided she would officially set off a chain reaction. so shifting the placard against her shoulder – her hands busy full pressing leaflets into anyone with free and thus vulnerable hands she could make it to – jolie similarly officially decided that a one-woman protest was the best way to do it. ultimately, she had a responsibility to her fellow students and that was to make sure they didn't fall for this serpenta rubbish. the ticket to opening their eyes? the “skeptic” club times listed on what jolie was passing and its header in caps, “SERPENTA UNCOVERED: THE TRUTH BEHIND THE NOVEMBER PARADE”, guaranteeing a “HISS-TORIC REVELATION”. and situated outside the evers college of physicality to take advantage of maximum foot traffic post-class jolie got a few people who stopped to talk. she counted that as an opportunity to paw even more pamphlets out – with the insistence that they pass it onto the friends. she made an mental note to pass them out to her fellow members as well given her choice of picketing that day had been last minute and entirely self-motivated. those 500 other pamphlets weren't gonna pass themselves out! jolie had been so excited that printing less than half a thousand seemed so unambitious... on the realisation she'd handed out the last of her current wave of pamphlets – having shoved maybe five or six leaflets into one student's hand – she headed back to the fountain where her rucksack resisted to fetch more. phido rested just by it; lying down the robot dog patiently watched his owner return to what he'd been guarding. her only acknowledgement of him was a smile but jolie just crouched down to her bag, picket kept upright by being tightly wedged between her thigh and upper arm and hovering above her like an abstract halo stating “WHO KILLED ERIC EVERS”. balancing that picket, though, meant it was jolie struggled when getting out her leaflets. once she had successfully pulled out a stack it seemed all in vain; a gust of a sharp, cold november wind blew the leaflets out of her grip. yelling slightly in panic, pulling herself up sharply, and managing to hit herself in the head with her picket, she made a vain attempt to give the blown-away leaflets the chase, glancing desperately to the first person she saw, “hey, hey, don't let those blow away mate!”

TRY TWICE AS HARD AND I'M HALF AS LIKED. ✿ "Listen son I'm not asking you to make up your mind now, but following your mother is only going to lead to trouble. It would pain me to be out on patrol one night and find myself having to fight my own son, just give it some thought before figuring out what you want to do." "Aren't you tired of following the rules? You have power! Why not use it get what you want, things that apply to normal people no longer apply to someone like you, to people like us. I know your father is trying to talk you into being his little sidekick, but just think about what being a hero gets you? Nothing. At least if you do things my way, the right way you'll be able to have everything you ever wanted."His mind was filled with the last conversation he had with his two parents both asking him side with the other, both asking him to make a choice. The only way he could get himself out of actually making the choice was to go to this college, he had told his dad it was to get a better grasp on his powers which was true, but he also didn't want to be under the gun like that. At least here he could have a little bit of time to actually do some thinking without the two of them breathing down his neck. Ezekiel shifted the backpack that was slung over his shoulder slightly as he began to walk around the North end of the campus, he wasn't sure where to go at the moment this was his first day here and he had no idea how to get around. He didn't mind it that much though he was in no real rush to get anywhere and besides he didn't have any classes for awhile he was honestly just trying to get a good feel for the place he'd be spending a lot of his time these next couple of years. That was if he could even manage to keep his mother and father off his back for that long but something told him he'd be able to figure it out. The comic books he read when he was little made this whole hero and villain thing seem so simple so black and white but when you got down to in real life it wasn't like that at all. He let a small sigh escape from his lips and gave his head a quick shake no need for him to spend so much time lost in thought; he was here to escape from all that not dwell on it forever. He kept walking mindlessly, paying no attention to where he was going and probably would have kept going about that way if someone yelling at him hadn't caught his attention. “hey, hey, don't let those blow away mate!”He blinked looking at the girl and finally realized what she was talking about, the leaflets that were blowing about in the wind. She was attempting to catch them and it seemed that she needed some help; Ezekiel let a small chuckle escape from his lips as he watched her. Though he wasn't exactly a jackass so he did help her, his body shifting into a mass of shadows as he used on of his powers. It was good thing he was in a college for super heroes otherwise this would certainly cause a certain level of panic; he reached his hand outward it stretched and expand into a much large and longer version of his hand. So much so that the leaflets effortless flew right into his palm. Afterwards his form shifted back to normal and the leaflets remained intact now resting safely in his hands. "Here you go miss, try to be more careful though."tag: @ ▪ words: 000 ▪ ooc: bloop |

Was it going to be one of those days, Heiko caught him self wondering as he started maneuvering his way around the Vireximus University's north east section. He had gotten out off class on a strange note, in fact this entire day was just all sorts of strange for Heiko and for no particular reason. The day as a whole was just feeling off. At least the weather was somewhat nice by his standards. He preferred it when things were on the chillier side, mostly because he wouldn't be looked at sideways for wearing his coat and hat, especially his nice lovely hat. So there was that silver lining.
With his hands jammed in to his pockets Heiko started making his way towards the the direction of the fountain. He couldn't help but to hear a few students talking about some leaflet some girl handed out. There were varying responses to it, a few students were curious, a few could careless either way, and a few just thought the girl was plain bat shit crazy. A hand full of more steps later, and some keen observation, Heiko figured that he was more than likely going to have a first hand encounter with this seemingly notorious hand out that was making its way around. He figured if he was subtle enough he would be over looked. Unfortunately for Heiko. He happened to be strolling a bit to closely to the source than he wanted to be.
Pulling his right hand out of his pocket letting the brisk November air cool his uncovered hand tapped around on his phones display. He brought his smartphone to the internet and proceeded to look at the news. There was nothing ground breaking that the media outlets that he followed released. It was frustrating to say the least. Despite all that they did they still turned out to be the bad guys in a sense with the whole situation. He and Zeph would need to get their asses in gear if they were gonna do anything about it. The school's staff wouldn't let them get involved, Heiko didn't have any reason. It was something that he just assumed. Sighing and transitioning into a disapproving groan Heiko tapped one button blacking out the display. As he transitioned his phone to his pocket he looked up just as a gust of wind hit his face square on. The wing carried a small paper towards him. Snatching the fleeing piece of paper out of reflex he took a hold of it with both hands and unfolded it.
“SERPENTA UNCOVERED: THE TRUTH BEHIND THE NOVEMBER PARADE” Is what the pamphlet said in bold lettering. It's short title was more than designed to catch a readers attention and given how recently the parade was there was more than likely someone who was going to read it. Rolling his eyes at the leaflet Heiko notice several more dance off in to the distance before redirecting his attention to the source due to a female voice shouting and then saying: “Hey, hey, don't let those blow away mate!” The girl, who was crouched down, and had a near by robotic looking dog was holding a picket sign with "WHO KILLED ERIC EVERS” written on it, wasn't talking to Heiko specifically, but rather another male VU student who decided to assist the her. Shifting in to a mass of shadows a clearly longer arm made out of shadows came from with in and started seizing the leaflets. It was similar to how Heiko managed his own power but even though the two shared the same baseline concept the two clearly were different in how their bodies dealt with the power. While that was an intriguing display of power Heiko still had the leaflet in his hands. Deciding againts his better judgement to just walk away and carry on Heiko started walking towards the pair with the intent in returning the leaflet. As he drew closer he caught him self thinking. Yup, this is gonna be one of those days.
"Here." He said extending the only leaflet he caught out to the girl. "The wind is very good for distribution, but it probably isn't the best for getting it to readers."

jolie let out a great big sigh of relief as the bloke came to her aid. slowly down as soon as she saw a superpower being used she bent slightly as she caught her breath, a little winded from the sudden chase after the pamphlets. when the other returned back to human form she looked grateful. his words, however, had a less favourable reply. “thanks,” she did start, her manners trumped soon enough, “but you can't tell me what to do!” she grinned the, voice revved up with enthusiasm and determination. she held out a hand, “now could you give those back?” “actually, on second thought, you can keep some of them!” she added excitedly on realisation that she hadn't caught this person in her initial flyering. looking over the leaflets she was had a thoughtful sound, “six, seven maybe?” a nod. “so you can give some to your mates as well, yeah?” not that she intended to take no for an answer. following this statement, though, lowered her voice in an attempt to be inconspicuous, leaning in to compensate for the volume, “you've got to spread the word, now. if i had any say so i say that convenient wind gust was sabotage.” what other plausible explanation was there? but after that darkly said whisper jolie immediately got back her grin, back to cheery and eagerly took to the other guy who'd been a help in getting back her leaflets. one wasn't too much but need it be repeated: it only took one thing to start a chain reaction so she couldn't go devaluing his attempt. she laughed happily at his joke but then suddenly took another turn for the serious with, “that's what i'm thinking, yeah? can't be a coincidence.” jolie shook her head as he extended the leaflet in his hand, moving her own arms up and away, closer to his chest, “no, no, keep it! it's only one and you don't have one yet.” another burst of realisation, “in fact, i'll give you more.” “the wind's rotten at distributing to readers but you look like a bloke that can do just that,” and the guy was going to get them whether he liked them or not by the look of determination of jolie wu's face.

TRY TWICE AS HARD AND I'M HALF AS LIKED. ✿ "The wind is very good for distribution, but it probably isn't the best for getting it to readers."Zeke's attention drew towards the sound of another unknown voice, he held a leaflet in his hands and it was outstretched in order to give it to its owner. The young man was a little disappointed in himself for having missed one of the leaflets but at least someone had managed to catch it and return it to its proper owner. His attention was again drawn away to something else, as the girl who he had just help and had even bothered to give a little bit of advice was giving him a bit of a hard time. He couldn't tell her what to do? He wasn't trying to tell her what to do; he was just trying to be a little helpful. Ezekiel's eyebrows bushed together in slight irritation but it passed, remembering that he had at to be at least a little tolerant with other people. He went to hand his collection of leaflets back to the girl after being asked to return them but she quickly changed her mind instead telling him to keep them. He blinked, what was up with this girl? She seemed a little bit on the crazy side, and that was saying something as he had grown up with a crazy super villain mother popping in and out of his life. He took the previous thought back however when the reason for being told to keep them became ever more clear, she wanted him to hand them out to his mate. Sadly though he didn't have any friends at the moments and the ones he did have were all the way in another state halfway across the country. Still she didn't seem like the type of person who would take no for an answer so he kept quite held the seven leaflets tightly in his hands. The idea that she was crazy returning into his head when she mentioned the wind being sabotage of some sort, who would want to sabotage her handing out leaflets? Ezekiel gave a shake of his head and brought his attention towards the leaflets as she talked to the other male, actually bothering to read what was on them. What the heck was Serpenta? Having only just got here he wasn't exactly up to date with everything that was going on at the school, so why not take this time to get more involved huh? "Umm if you don't mind me asking, just who or what is Serpenta?" tag: @ ▪ words: 428 ▪ ooc: Wee |

Taking advantage of the kindness offered by the other student the girl shoved a few more leaflets his way.“Actually, on second thought, you can keep some of them!” she said to him with enthusiasm for her cause. “Six, seven maybe? So you can give some to your mates as well, yeah?” Heiko let his eyes drift to the side to see this guy's reaction, and frankly Heiko couldn't blame the guy for reacting as confused as it seemed from Heiko's position and given the girl's demeanor so far. She wasn't going to take "no" for an answer, willingly at least.
“You've got to spread the word, now. if i had any say so i say that convenient wind gust was sabotage." She told Heiko and the other assisting student in a quiet whisper she leaned in to deliver. Heiko couldn't believe that this chick honestly thought that the gust of wind was apart of some kind of grand conspiracy to foil her distribution, enough for him to sub-vocally think Well, bat shit insane is certainly starting to fit the bill... However, she was set in her cause because as soon as she delivered that some kinda of
“that's what i'm thinking, yeah? can't be a coincidence.” She replied with a hardy laugh to Heiko's sarcastic remark. Internally Heiko had to resist rolling his eyes. He was having a hard time swallowing the notion that she honestly thought that the gust of wind but he wasn't going to be talking to her much longer. He was going to give her the leaflet that belong to her and be on his way. At least that is what he wanted.
The girl shook her head declining Heiko's gesture to return the leaflet and retaliated to it by pushing his arm closer to his chest clearly in an attempt for him to keep it. “No, no, keep it! it's only one and you don't have one yet.” At this point Heiko was wishing he just would of thrown the damn thing out. “In fact, i'll give you more.”
Heiko opened his mouth to attempt to say: "No thanks, this'll be enough since you don't want to give it out," and inevitably make his way to the nearest garbage or recycling point and dispose of this lunacy. Yet his escape was cut off when she volunteered him to help spread her leaflets.
The amount of frustration Heiko was attempting to keep under control was starting to mimic the degree it was a couple of days ago when he and the others were battling it out on 5th avenue. The only thing that saved this girl from Heiko going off on her was that the other guy asked: "Umm if you don't mind me asking, just who or what is Serpenta?"
"She was the super villan that was behind the attack on the 5th avenue parade a few days ago." Heiko replied shifting his attention off the pushy female. "Had a giant snake and a legion and a half of annoying monkey minion. I'm surprised you don't know about it. It's been all over the news and people are still in an up roar about everyone that kidnapped during the whole thing."

was she hearing this guy right? jolie made no attempt to cover her slack-jawed expression. she went from excitable to plain flabbergasted at the question. she needed time to recover from that question, and spluttered a pretty indignant while staring up at him bewildered, “you're joking. proper joking. you've got to be.” luckily, the other bloke swooped in with the explanation. not only had he agreed to hand out leaflets – at least, in jolie's eyes – but he was altogether willing to help explain things too! it seemed that while he'd caught the leaflet she'd caught a helper! she nodded eagerly along with his explanation, glancing appreciatively her newly deemed helper and back to the guy who had apparently been living under a rock for the past week. “duuuh, that's serpenta,” jolie added matter-of-factly, following up that with something that sounded halfway between a giggle and a snort. the sound caught the attention of the robot dog at the side. phido had been watching cautiously, pushing its metal chassis off the ground and heading over by its owner. there was the slow wag of its tail and it seemed it'd judged jolie more important than her belongings by the fountain. jolie had recovered from her surprise but was still shooting the first guy something of a cautious look while hastily started talking again, “but that's not all of the story. no way, nu-uh.” she finally moved to take back the leaflets. licking her thumb to flip through them, started counting out some to give back all the while saying, “because you know serpenta, yeah?” with about nine counted out she made a satisfied sound, pressing them back into the other's hands. she tried to keep her attention on the other guy too though since while he'd explained the bare crux of it obviously he didn't know the full tale, “is she really a super villain?” brandishing leftover leaflets in the air jolie grinned toothily save for the gap for the missing lateral, “she used to be one of those sponsor fakes, yeah? yeah?” while she looked on for feedback from the other two she continued on regardless, “but she's a “villain” now? what's up with that?” she didn't give either of them time to reply after that question, suddenly turning very intense, “i can tell you what's up with that.” “'cause the “media”? the “news”?” she emphasised both words heavily, whipping out inverted comma motions despite holding leaflets in one hand, “ain't looking to explore alleys of independent thought, man. don't tell me you don't wonder why some broad – who was meant to be outta commission once her gig was blown – just came back and took people?” then she took a break to let them say something! continuing to grin, she did add in afterthought a bit later, “by the way, i'm jolie.” “president of vireximus university's resident “skeptic” society!” and another afterthought, “also dance. that too.”

TRY TWICE AS HARD AND I'M HALF AS LIKED. ✿ When he asked his question regarding the identity Serpenta he was met with a bewildered look from one of the two people he was talking to, the female one. She followed the look by asking if Zeke had been joking in his question and he gave his a head a shake from left to right to confirm that he was indeed not joking. He was lucky however that the other man seemed to understand he would like to have an answer and went on to explain that the person in question was actually a super villain, one who had attacked the city not that long ago. The young man's arms crossed as thoughts began to flow inside of his head, he wondered if his mother knew this Serpenta person. From what the other male had told him regarding what she could, and the kind of lackeys she had with her it certainly sounded like his mother might have known her. "I don't watch a lot of TV I've actually been rather busy dealing with a few things, I wasn't even in New York until recently this is my first day on campus." muttered Zeke as he shifted his backpack into a more comfortable position on his back. His attention was again drawn away from the stable of the two people he was dealing with and the off kilter one who seemed to think there was way more to the Serpenta story than what it appeared to be. The young girl began to explain that Serpenta use to be a sponsor back in the golden days of Superheroes, and that it was odd to find her suddenly becoming an actual villain. It was certainly odd for something like to happen and did pose a lot of questions, but they were questions Zeke didn't really want to bother getting the answers to. He was here to avoid being a hero not get himself forced into it by some girl he had just met on his first day at the school, "Still it makes me wonder if my mother would know anything... the words escaped from his lips softly as he thought to himself, and he was unaware he had even said anything. The female introduced herself giving out her name and Zeke gave her a nod, "I'm Ezekiel, but you can just call me Zeke most people do." his eyes drew towards the other male the only to not have introduced himself and he wouldn't judge if he didn't. The girl they were dealing with obviously a little crazy lord knows what she'd do if she knew your full name, probably google you until she found something that gave off a slight bit of alarm. "You do raise a good point by the way that certainly does sound a bit strange, though with all the people here I'm sure you'll find your answers. If you can't, why don't you just go ask her? Shouldn't she be in jail right now or something?"tag: @ ▪ words: 428 ▪ ooc: Wee |

Well one thing was for certain. Between Heiko and this woman there was a rift in basic opinions. While Heiko offered a calm explanation at the recent events the protesting like woman was standing there basically unable to fathom the fact that this guy didn't hear of Serpenta. Yet when Heiko delivered his explanation he managed to catch a few supporting nods from the woman. Only a few moments later would the other male who had a related power to Heiko would go on and explain to the both of them that he had only just started attending the school yesterday. It was fair enough of an excuse, not that he wasn't going to hold any other reason above that. It was well within this guys rights to decide what he paid attention to. However it seemed like the woman was not content with the events that had transpired.
“Because you know Serpenta, yeah? Is she really a super villain?" Heiko groaned. He didn't know what was going to come next but he was certain based off the brief trend he had encountered it wasn't going to be good."Is she really a super villain? She used to be one of those sponsor fakes, yeah? yeah?” while she looked on for feedback from the other two she continued on regardless, “but she's a “villain” now? what's up with that?" If there was a chance for rebuttal Heiko would of seized the opportunity, however there wasn't even a moment for Heiko to take a breath.“'Cause the “media”? the “news”? Ain't looking to explore alleys of independent thought, man. don't tell me you don't wonder why some broad – who was meant to be outta commission once her gig was blown – just came back and took people?” There was a natural emphasis placed on words media and news which she more than had her fair share of skepticism. Not to say Heiko had the insane amount of skepticism that this girl had but he knew to check sources and get as many sources as he could, legally or other wise. He had a feeling this woman didn't have any sources. “By the way, i'm Jolie. president of vireximus university's resident “skeptic” society!” When Jolie finally introduced her self and the clubs she was president of Heiko rolled his eyes at the first option. Thankfully she didn't know anything he and Zeph could get in to. She'd probably never leave them alone with the information they could obtain.
"I'm Ezekiel, but you can just call me Zeke most people do." As right now Heiko had the names of everyone here, which left him as the only one to introduce him self. "Heiko Warnner." He said with a nod not sure why he was still waiting this conversation out.
"You do raise a good point by the way that certainly does sound a bit strange, though with all the people here I'm sure you'll find your answers. If you can't, why don't you just go ask her? Shouldn't she be in jail right now or something?" The man named Zeke suggested.
"It won't work." Heiko said knowing that center of the conversation could probably shift. "They are only letting official investigators and very few of the facility staff get even remotely close to her, trust me I've tried." Heiko was starting to sound a bit of an ass but he was irritated. He wasn't going to mention he was trying to fight is way through the network to find the reports. "Regardless of who she was. She fucked up a lot of shit and people are missing." It was the sense of responsibility talking from Heiko.

his first day, score – after all, the trick was to get 'em while they were young and supple! jolie's expression light up as soon as she heard he was a freshman, ever so bad at concealing her emotions, though soon attempted to play it cooler. she couldn't stop smirking anyway, eager to highlight other things, “well it's proper good you don't really watch tv. can't trust half the things on it anyway.” a pause, “more than half. way more than half, yeah? especially with this american tv.”
“lemme be one of the first to welcome you to vireximus uni then!” she clapped her hands together, leaflets clapping together as well. jolie did find herself growing a little antsy still talking to these two but if it meant she could sink her teeth into a possible new member she could put off spreading the truth for a bit! she wasn't too sure about the other bloke. she hadn't seen him around – didn't seem like a guy who went to any of her other clubs anyway but she didn't really have a memory for that sorta thing anyway – and hadn't he been groaning or something during her explanation? then again, he coulda been as equally as outraged as her about this whole obvious cover-up.
jolie adverted her eyes back to the other, looking a little confused. the shadow guy talked about his parent. it didn't seem that the other bloke she was with really paid it any mind but something so non-sequitur made her curious, “who's your mum?” that question got to the crux of the matter! “thing is, you can't stand thinking about this shit – or thinking 'bout your mum, you're a grown bloke for christ's sake. you've gotta make things happen instead, yeah?”
her smile widened with the acquisition of his name, “zeke.” kinda a weird one when she went over it in her head. was it a christian name or some kinda superhero alias? she had met a few on campus who already used theirs for pretty much any situation but there was another ring to it, “sounds like the name of a new “skeptic” society member! how about it?”
'cause ezekiel seemed proper new to the whole investigating thing otherwise. the other bloke – who introduced himself as jolie noted happily — explained the situation while jolie lapsed into another guffaw. gesticulating a little wildly along with his explanation once he was done she registered his name first, “heiko, roger that!” hand on her hip, she looked up between them and still trying to recover from a second round of shock, “like heiko said, they've got her locked down proper good like. no chance of anyone who ain't giving it to the man getting close.”
“as she is now serpenta's a proper deadend. everyone's already lining up to take a turn with her. so, like i said,” she winked and wagged her finger at ezekiel, “that's why we gotta go exploring alternative thought, yeah? we do that at skeptics.”
