- Asher was born in one of the less populated areas of Vermont. His parents, both normal humans, thought they had a perfectly average child until Asher turned five. He began to see and hear things that weren't there, and doctors believed that he had a rare case of childhood schizophrenia. However, despite giving him treatment, things just got worse from there. Some days he would just begin screaming, crying, or laughing uncontrollably for seemingly no reason whatsoever. It was difficult to get him to eat anything, try on new clothes, or even accept hugs. When he began passing out as well, his parents, who were not terribly religious, went so far as to have an exorcism done on him. Still, nothing seemed to work.
Asher was left with his grandparents on his father's side when he was eleven and never saw his parents again. Part of him knew something like this would happen eventually. His visions had shown him that his parents were frustrated and, more than anything else, afraid. His grandparents, who were also powerless, initially had little more success in giving Asher a normal life. Still, they began to recognize little things that helped, like not feeding him meat, giving him gloves to wear, not replacing his comfort objects with new ones, and introducing new objects to him for a few moments at a time over a long period. Asher eventually said some things that made his grandparents think that this wasn't a normal illness. There was too much uncanny truth in what he was experiencing for it to be a coincidence. So they confirmed what Asher had been silently suspecting for a while: this wasn't an illness, but a power. Asher is now attending VU not so that he can become a hero, but rather so that he might find a way to get his power under control.

[attr="class","appbold"]POWERS:
- PRIMARY POWER: retrocognition. Whenever Asher's skin touches a solid object, living or not, which is at least the size of a 1/3 inch sided cube, he gets vivid visions of its past. However, these visions are highly specific, as he experiences them through the perceptions of a person or animal who interacted with (watched, touched, etc.) that object. Objects which are new to him are the most vidid, so when he touches them, he seems to go into a sort of trance, and may even begin acting like the person he's experiencing the vision through. Consequently, he can only eat liquids or things that have been cut into tiny bits, and always wears familiar clothing which covers the entirety of his body. As he becomes more familiar with an object, the visions start feeling less like being possessed and more like a lucid dream; he still feels like that other person, but he has some degree understanding of what's going on and of control. Objects of which he is most familiar (for example, the only four outfits he owns) have had their visions so faded that they don't interfere with his life at all. He can still get visions from there if he concentrates on them, but otherwise they're insignificant. It's like how people who live by a busy road don't even notice the sound of cars driving by unless someone points it out to them.
Asher has yet to figure out any effective method of controlling this power, so the point in time he experiences and the individual he experiences it from are essentially random. However, he has noticed that it's more common for him to get visions through the eyes of people in a heightened emotional state. It should also be mentioned that, although Asher experiences these visions from the point of an individual, he does not know their exact thoughts. Also, the more overwhelming, vivid emotions leave him feeling tired and drained. If such a vision lasts for more than two minutes or so (give or take a minute, depending on how extreme the experience is), he'll pass out. He'll also pass out if he's assaulted by more than two extreme visions at once or if he experiences something dying.
