- oricelle was born to a stereotypical suburban middle class family. she has a mother, a father, and a no good rapscallion little brother. she's a second generation american citizen, with her paternal grandparents still living in greece. her maternal ancestry is scattered, but she does have an aunt living in new york.
in her younger years, she went by the nickname chel, as oricelle was foreign, strange, and hard to pronounce. nowadays she likes to introduce herself as cim, playing up on the mystery angle. she only lets close friends call her oricelle, and makes them work to earn that honor.
cim discovered her powers at a young age. barring a few electrical blackouts, she grew up without incident and mostly passed under the radar. her parents had insisted that she have a normal childhood and education, and let her decide if she wanted to attend VU or attempt a more conventional route. there was no major deciding factor influencing her choice, except possibly a latent desire to punch people.
cim didn't tell any of her old friends where she was going, unless they'd asked. she's considering this to be a fresh start, and is doing a poor job of maintaining ties back home.

- ELECTRICITY MANIPULATION: cim's primary power is pretty much what it says on the tin. she's capable of molding electric currents to her will, lending her some level of control over technology, though this depends on her precision. she can also do things like shoot bolts and shock people to death, given enough power. her body is one huge conductor, so it's impossible for her to be damaged by any sort of electricity. cim is, of course, still vulnerable to the explosions or fireworks that electricity might cause. while unable to actually create electricity, cim is able to store rather large amounts of it, though she becomes staticky and sparky when overly full. being charged allows her to push somewhat further than the average human, but other than that, all physical abilities are her own.
some interesting perks include: being able to charge appropriate materials with magnetic fields, sensitivity to the general state of electrical land, and the ability to pop balloons from a distance. her sword and mask are basically two huge magnets that she can control by varying electric current.
- ELECTRICAL TRANSFORMATION: when near wires capable of conducting current, cim can transform her body into pure electrical current and ride along. unless supplied with special materials, her clothes are unable to make the journey, making for some supremely awkward moments when and where she pops up. the wires don't need to be actively conducting, and cim can hide herself in small devices this way. however, she is not able to control machinery when in this form. should cim assume this form and not immediately enter some sort of conducting material, she is at risk of dissipating entirely.
with further training, it is entirely possibly that cim will be able to transform only segments of her body into pure current. such an ability will have a variety of uses, one of them being a degree of invulnerability. electricity cannot, after all, sustain physical wounds. cim will be able to stretch these segments long distances depending on how much of her body is transformed, though she will be unable to separate them from her body. should she attempt to do so, she'll probably lose an arm. because of this, the segments have a steady source of power, and are in no danger of dissipating. the distance that transformed segments are able to reach varies on the alleged thickness of each piece. while it's true that electricity naturally cannot be measured by volume, cim will be able to vary the electron density of each segment. denser segments cannot travel as far as their less dense counterparts. in this sense, cim is more limited by her vision than by her ability. unobstructed, she could probably reach 1000ft in distance with a threadlike segment, which has rather limited uses.
