"Uh"
Disgruntled sounds muffle out in an echo from a floating sword as it hovers over back and forth in the library hall. It was as if the strange old age weapon was pacing through the room in a restless manner. Though the truth is in fact that. The bizarre levitating sword possessed by a human impatiently waits for a so claimed rude person to return an over due book back into its shelf. How does she know it will be returned shortly? Well it is through heavy virtual research and deduction (or simply looking at the library's online database every other hour), that this levitating sword, which goes by the name of Lavinia, concluded that the book was returned this very day. Unfortunate for her, the book has yet to return to its selected spot in the many rows of books. Meaning she'd either have to risk her book being checked out and wait for tomorrow or painfully sit (or in her case float) around still till a librarian person finally shelves it.
"UH!'
Of course waiting for her reference book doesn't mean she'll be all that happy having to wait around all day. You know, being the saint of patience and all.
"It's been twenty minutes already! When will this book ever come out!?"
The words echo out from the sword at it strikes down on the carpeted floor with frustration. Lavinia is usually fine when it comes to sitting around and staying quite, but only when it comes to gossip and stake outs. Not for some dumb book. But either way it has to be done.

Asher had a very love-hate relationship with libraries. On one hand, the people who went there generally kept to themselves so it was socially acceptable -- if not encouraged -- for him to quietly sit on his own without socializing with anyone. But on the other hand, it was filled to the brim with unfamiliar books and other assorted objects, and on the off-chance he touched any of them, he might do something humiliatingly embarrassing while surrounded by a bunch of strangers. Still, he was gently scolded by his grandmother when he didn't leave his room except for classes, and that was enough for him to make an effort, albeit a weak one, to go someplace else relatively quiet and safe. On campus, the only place he knew of that met those qualifications was the library. He even got a job there... even though his only hours were on Friday nights when most students were out drinking and clubbing... or whatever it was that normal college students did on a Friday night instead of going to libraries. Tonight, however, was not a Friday night, so he was just carefully sitting on one of the couches while drawing in his sketch book and hoping that no one tried looking over his shoulder. He could never draw when people were watching him; that was just too stressful. What if they saw him make a glaring mistake or judged him for how much he erased or... oh gosh, he was getting anxious just thinking about it. Exhaling a shaky breath, he looked up from his paper just to be 100% sure that no one was watching him. There wasn't... but... he was pretty sure that there was a floating sword hovering back and forth down one of the aisles of books. He can't have claimed to have seen something like that before. He just stared for a few moments at the levitating object until he realized he was staring and immediately set his gaze back to his drawing. Yes, just focus on the graphite lines of factory workers. It was much more polite to look at that than at a floating sword... probably... Asher didn't exactly know the expected manners one should have around a floating weapon. He couldn't help but glance up again and again, not sure what to think of the animated blade. He soon came to the conclusion that it was probably some sort of prank. Someone had to be controlling it to freak out students... or something like that. It didn't exactly look like a hostile sword. Well, as far as swords went, at least. Not that Asher was an expert on swords or anything... He visibly jumped when the sword struck the floor, but any sound he might have released got trapped in his throat. So apparently it was a hostile sword. Ha. Well then. Look at the time. Asher was late for time-to-escape-o-clock. No better time to leave than the present, though, right? Yes, that sounded like a good plan. In his haste to gather up his things, Asher managed to drop his sketchbook, scattering loose pages over the floor. By chance, one of them happened to catch the air just right and glided over to the aisle with the sword. Well... he couldn't just leave it there. After all, he didn't want random strangers seeing his sketches. Clinging tightly to the rest of his papers, he cautiously walked over to the paper and slowly kneeled down to pick it up with a gloved hand. The weather outside wasn't even particularly cold, but Asher had every inch of skin below his scarf thoroughly covered. His eyes glanced around, not sure where the person controlling the sword was hiding. "Er... h-hello?" Asher spoke in a meek voice. Stupid stupid stupid, why was he talking to a sword? This was a trap, he was going to get stabbed. "Is there... um... do... do you need something?" Idiot, someone could jump out at any moment and touch him with something. He was walking right into their prank, why was he doing this to himself... LAVINIA ESPADARA | IGNORE THE LENGTH, DON'T MAKE YOUR POSTS LONGER, IT JUST HAPPENED, IDEK

Approached by the boy with teal hair, the sword spins in place with the point of it's sheathed blade steady on the ground. It looked like a spinning top for a moment. The sword than wavers quietly back and forth and even learning forward slightly. Truly strange a gestures, though the reality is that the sword cycles around to somehow get a good look of the meek boy.
'Oh look, yet another intrigued subject lost with aw from my presence. Great.' The sword thought as she pictures herself rolling her eyes from the common accruing nuisance. It's even gotten to the point that she'd think the world world would tremble if the people acted any differently. After she finished looking at the boy she kept still and silent for a long moment. A very long moment. She didn't feel very compelled to speak. She rarely ever feels like speaking to most new faces these days. She was never very fond of bring the outgoing and talkative type and now less as it seemed more and more of a comical act or a magic trick.
The possessed sword did eventually open up after a bit of an awkward silence, but not in a friendly way. Before letting out a word she gives out a sounds of the clicking of a tongue and a single huff. Though the fact that a sword can even compose such sounds is a mystery of its own.
"If you're a librarian and sure, hell yeah! But if not then don't try to bother me with your useless concerns."
The sword twirls around its place while seeming like it huffs with anger to herself. It was a bit rude of her to act such way but she's pretty sure with herself that the kid is not some volunteer of the library trying to help her out. In facts she's pretty damn sure of that the soft spoken kid either just walked by with a hell lot of curiosity or lost some kind of bet.
"Now look kid."
Now with a more serious tone, they sword said as it floats up and leans into Asher. Almost as if she's about to pat the boy with an arm and tell him a secret.
"I know you're gonna ask so I might as well just say it now. YES I'M A SWORD!"

Max walked down to the library. Perhaps it was a little weird that a cocky, impatient speedster liked to read, but what else could you expect from a guy who was raised by theoretical physicists?
He walked in, and the first thing that caught his eye was a kid with teal hair and a floating sword.
"Oh my gosh, that is so COOL!" He said in an almost scream. He zipped over at rapid speed, so that in a fraction of a second he was right in front of both of them.
"That's amazing! Are you doing that"-he gestured to the sword-"or is it someone else?" he exclaimed. He'd litter ally been at this school for only a few days, so he was super excited at any new power he came across. He looked around and noticed the sketches and pencils strewn around the floor.
"Need help with that?" he asked, then picked all of them up and set them down in the table before this kid had time to blink. He then offered his hand.
"Oh, I should probably introduce myself. I'm Max." He said with a smile, oblivious to the kid's terrified expression.

Was he a librarian? He was sort of a librarian. He could probably help her if he knew what she wanted. Unless it (did swords have genders? Oh gosh that was too embarrassing to even think about asking...) just wanted to scare innocent library-goers, in which case it(?) was already doing an excellent job without Asher's assistance. "Okay..." Asher meekly replied, not sure if he wanted to try explaining his semi-librarian status to the angry, floating sword or just let it(?) continue to think that he was useless. The later definitely seemed easier, and not entirely untrue in his mind. Normally, he would have just awkwardly scurried away after a moment of uncomfortable silence, but the blade continued to talk (how did that even work?) and then decided to float towards him. Red alert, red alert! Asher's eyes widened and he leaned his entire body back in fear, though his feet remained rooted. The thoughts 'please don't touch me, please don't touch me, please don't touch me' repeated over and over in his mind, but those words never left his lips. He just stood there like a deer in the headlights as the sword "shouted" that it(?) was, in fact, a sword. Asher honestly didn't know what to say to that, and was, at this point, much more concerned about the close proximity of the blade to the exposed skin on his face than the genuineness of the floating, talking sword. By a stroke of luck -- whether it was good or bad had yet to be determined -- Asher didn't have to talk at all, since someone else broke the silence for him. The loudness of the shout caused Asher to jump, then stumble backwards to prevent his leaning body from falling over completely. "I… um…" He couldn't keep up with the questions; as soon as he even thought about answering the first one, the hyper student just asked another. Before he knew it, all of his papers which he had clumsily dropped had been neatly stacked back on the table, the other male had introduced himself, and was now waiting for Asher to shake his hand (probably in that order; Asher wasn't entirely sure). Everything in the room seemed very very close all of a sudden… "O-oh," Asher replied, letting out a breath he hadn't realized that he had been holding as he blinked a few times to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. He quickly added a quick "Thank you" for the picked up drawings. Gloves had become a necessity of his attire years ago, so shaking hands wasn't too much of a problem, but the fact that angry-floating-sword was right next to them made him rather hesitant, so he opted to change the subject instead of grasping the outstretched hand. "Um, I'm Asher, but… t-the… um…" He nervously glanced away from the hand and back at angry-floating-sword, then at a random bookshelf because he didn't want to stare at angry-floating-sword, "I'm not… doing that…" The already-lacking volume in his voice fizzled away like a dying flame as he hoped that someone else would start talking. Max noticed his fellow student's nervousness for the first time. Why would that be? "He's probably new," Max thought to himself. "Yeah, that's it. Just need to tone it down a bit is all."
Realizing that this kid wasn't going take his hand, and was instead just stood up on his own, Max looked around at the library.
"Uh... so," he began. "What are you doing in the library?" He realized that it was kind of a stupid question, and chuckled at the thought. "Well, you know besides the obvious?"
As he looked around a bit more, his gaze kept moving back to the floating sword. He wanted to know so bad...
"Ok, seriously dude," he blurted out, his curiosity undeniable. "How are you doing that?" He gestured at the archaic looking long sword and continued.
"Are you telekinetic? Or uh, maybe gravity control?" He continued excitedly and getting a tad loud. " Can you fly? Because it would awesome to fly. I can only run up walls, which is cool, but not quite as cool as flying."
Realizing he was getting out of hand, he took a deep breath and continued.
"Sorry, just excited is all. Let me start out simpler: I'm Max. What's your name?"
