she was going to wrench those chicken nuggets out of his hands.
victor was just lucky olesya had a pan to attend to. sautéing came first but, still, she watched him disapprovingly over her work and the crackle of chicken cooking on oil. jerking at the pan handle, the food bouncing in the air, she settled for mild berating, “now you're here.” lifting up a spatula, olesya jabbed through the air in his direction and across the counter, “you cannot eat that crap.”
she'd bumped into victor with the offending food close to the administration building. she'd been on the campus after hours after a meeting in the administration building. it even felt perplexing to bump into him like that. they may have been working together once again – even if on entirely different terms — but memory of his sudden absence was fresh in olesya's mind so much that there was something… disconcerting about him being around again after so long. was that the right word? the feeling was one olesya struggled to put in english.
but olesya forgot about that when she saw the fast food victor was carrying.
probing about the fast food had a pretty immediate conclusion; she had insisted on cooking some kind of meal. that lead them both to the caféteria's kitchen that evening, olesya putting together whatever she could with the short notice. she had returned to keeping an eye on the chicken a moment longer, “because i do not understand.”
“with your speed you could run anywhere,” satisfied, she took the pan off the hob, switching off the gas as she returned to a cutting board beside her, “yet you choose mcdonald's?” she glanced at him skeptically one time before picking an onion and the kitchen was filled with the sound of a knife against a chopping board. after one onion chopped in almost no time, she hesitated in her work, “it will not do.”
she stepped away from the chopping board, utensil still in hand, approaching him with it and holding out her free palm not wielding the kitchen knife, “hand the box over.”

HEY YOUNG BLOOD DOESN'T IT FEEL LIKE TIME IS RUNNING OUT? Victor was beating himself up mentally he really was, he had just been walking back to his office to grade some papers, like a good teacher when he had ran into Olesya. Which probably wouldn't have been a bad thing if he hadn't had two bags of greasy Mcdonalds in his hands when it happened, the look on her face was something he had never seen from the woman before. She clearly had a big problem with his new choice in food but it wasn't really his fault was it? He didn't want to deal with any of the others after Evers died, after everything went to hell he had been too hurt by all the lies and that meant cutting Olesya out as well. Since he could no longer get her cooking, which was his choice really, he had taken up eating fast food it got the job done filling his rather large need for energy and it was something he could afford.
He probably could have run away from her now that he was thinking about it more clearly but for some reason he couldn't get his feet to move, and he was dragged off to the school kitchen. She had insisted on cooking him a proper meal instead of him eating what she had called crap food, and that was pretty much why he was now sitting across the corner from her while she cooked for him. He had three chicken nuggets in his hand, because he was a bit of an impatient man when it came to food and really wanted something to eat now. Of course Olesya notice it and began to stab at him from across the counter with her spatula causing him to drop the food. "Crap? CRAP!? How can you call this crap it's actually really good." spoke the blonde trying his best to defend himself, which honestly wasn't working out very well for him.
She returned to her food shortly after and began to speak to him again commenting that with his speed he could eat anywhere. Which was true but why wasn't time running all the way to someplace like Japan when he could go to McDonalds or Burger King and get his food there. Besides he didn't have the money to pay for all those fancy places with really good food, and if he was being honest he had become slightly addicted to the taste of fast food. He rubbed the back of his head carefully having put the chicken nuggets down so that she wouldn’t go jabbing at him again, "Heehee I guess I could do that but getting McDonalds is easier, and lighter on my wallet." he chuckled uneasily after saying this.
She wasn't buying it clearly because after finishing her chopping she made her around the counter and advanced on him with the kitchen a hand out stretched to take his food from him. He gulped staring at her before slowly handing her the two bags he had just bought, "Can't I just have one bite? Just one small bite, it'll be my last I promise." it was a lie, he was going to buy more...he was always going to end up buying more.
